Here are a few of my first shots with my new Canon EOS 10D. I really like it. It was quick to pick up on, but I still have a lot to learn.

Thanks Kosta!

I had a great weekend with this new camera. And all the play toys I bought to go with it :)

The 1gb memory card is fast! and holds a lot of photos but I love the portable 20gb HD! real sharp. It is battery or AC operated and I can download the photos pretty quick and view them via thumbnails.

Until it rained like crazy in Austin this morning! I was going to stick around and do some night shots in Austin but we were very tired and decided to head home :)

I love San Antonio, been there twice and had lot of fun,but last time I had a 5$ one use cam and all photos are no show!

I have one, but it is 55mm and my new lenses are 58mm!

The two EF lenses I had with my EOS 650 system would not work with the 10D. Apparently they were to old. I had to buy two new lenses.

I will have to put the filter and car charger for the 10D batteries on my xmas list (To my sons). My wife siad I just got my Xmas gifts for the next two years!

I did find one thing strange! If I put my Vivitar 2X converter on with my old 70-300mm lense it does work! Figure that one out? found this out when I got back from the dealer. I took all the old equipment in to try it on the new 10D.

Austin is s busy town at night, you think all the youth from Texas is out having fun.
Only I'm afraid all this job cuts in Semiconductor industry will hurt Austin a lot!

I don't think so, the heart of Austin is the University. Dell is a big help but if they and others take a hit Austin will still keep going strong.

Congrats! I can't wait to get mine. It will be awhile. I love the shots.

Oh ya, I think using the 10D in challenges on dpc is illegal,
so don't put that old one awhile. hehehhe.

LOL!

If the 10D were illegal in the challenges we all would stand a better chance at winning a ribbon :)

But it is still more than just the camera :) it is the eye behind the camera also.

Calvus, I love the shots. One tiny complaint - on the motorcycle one, you lose focus towards the bottom because of your depth of field. While I like the composition, I think that in this case it would be stronger cropped at the bottom to keep everything within the depth of field. Of course, if you're just showing off your camera, then I'm am definitely jealous. Congrats!

Thanks StevePax

I will make another cut of the original and see how it turns out.
I thought that would be to much sky.
I was just doing a quick 2/3 - 1/3 crop to load them on DPC.
Thanks so much fo the great help :)

Don't go shooting the Austin Capitol - people are telling me off for showing too many of those :) I think I have almost exactly the same railings shot too!

Great shots though Calvus.

You are driving 85 mph AND taking photos? Are you also talking on your cell phone?

Those shots are great Calvus! I really like the night shots. Are you going to hog the ribbons now?

Welcome to team 10D !!!

My wife was driving LOL :)
I was reading the owners manual.
As you can see by the traffic ahead of us we were not the only ones do 80-85mph oh this hwy. Some people take hwy 281 to bypass I-35 which is a heavy with construction and traffic. Besides the scenery is better :)

Jacko, congratulations "Dad" and "Mom".

Getting those night shots on Saturday night was a "BEAR"

Thanks, but like everyone else her it is still going to be tough to get that ribbon. It is not just the camera. But the 10D sure makes the pain feel a little bit better LOL :)

LOL :)

Thanks Gordon.

I may have came close to duplicating the inside dome shot also!
Although it is hard not to.

The real tricky part of those hwy shots was getting that 1/1000 or 1/1500s shutter speed or etc to count for all the bouncing up and down!
