I'm dissapointed. This is my first autumn of digital photography, and I wanted to take some fall shots. But there are no colours! All the leaves around my house are almost all gone- they didn't change colour, they just sort of fell off. I went all the way up to Elora, Ontario, and the tree's were as green as American currency. The one's that were left anyway, there were a lot of bare tree's, barely any colours.

When are the colours going to come out? I'm in the Toronto area, did I miss them already? How far do I have to go to some good colour if I wanted to take shots this week?

I've missed ours too here in Oregon. I run out whenever the sun comes out, but I know that 30 minutes later it's going to rain. The wind and the rain have been knocking the leaves off. There's probably still some colors in the mountains, but there's also snow!

Oregon forecast from weather.com:
Tomorrow: Showers early, becoming a steady rain later in the day. High 57F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Rainfall may reach one inch.

This weekend and following week are supposed to get sunny. Hopefully there's still some leaves left on the trees after two weeks of windy rain.

Sorry I can't help with your search. Good luck on your journey to find leaves!

The leaves are mostly gone out west here as well but we did get some really nice colors around the end of september. This one was taken on the last day of sept and I didn't get a chance to go back there otherwise it'd be in the free study for october :P

In the Northwest Interior it's been a bad year for fall colours. We don't get the red you guys in the NE get, but we get the aspen golds. Last year they just glowed, it was beautiful! This year, well, it's like they went from before glowing to brownish. Blame it on the weather. Some years you get really good colour, others you don't. I hope next year will be good.

Shucks, I was looking forward to some cool landscapes. Maybe I'll go to Australia, it'll be fall there in a few months :P

Autumn would be a better word to describe the season in Australia :P My sister lives just outside brisbane and constantly reminds me of the temperature difference. Their "Fall" is from march to may and is warmer than the majority of our summers.

I had a relative's friend visit from there, he said the there were a lot of deciduous tree's that change colour at certain times of the year. I can't remember what part he was from though...

Minnesota too dry in the spring, too much wind and rain now. Sun might come out Saturday morning. Hopefully there will be some color left.
