Use hair spray. My mother swears by it! LOL! |
or add a flame to the front of the can first lol. |
Gee... I can see it now. Instead of a greasy spot on Cindi's wall, she'll have a HUGE scorch mark, if not worse! lol |

I'm obliged to point out that, while this may be an effective anti-arachnid agent, it's also an excellent way to blow your hand off and/or start a fire. |

Oh, Paul, if everyone thought like you, there'd be no Darwin Awards, which would be very boring. And we'd never get to see this carried out in real life:

meet Charlie, he lives in our bathroom and we feed him moths and flies...which I guess technically means he's our pet :D
oh and he's no longer 3mm, he's about 2 inches by now. Sweet dreams :)

as stated...myth...we have a chart in our medical clinic here that tells of common "insects" and the likes (scorpions) for the Marines to watch for in and around Iraq. It list the camel spider (which is actually NOT a spider) as non-poisous but it's bite can (as just about anything can) get infected. It does have pinchers but prefers other small insects. It is known to "chase" people but that is because it is trying to get cool and likes to be in your shadow. They also look mean running because as they run their pinchers and front legs are lifted up. They only list the size of them to be about what is shown in this thread. Snopes.com tells a little more of the same stuff our chart says.
While not poisous, I still wouldn't want to find one coming at me lol. |

I am allergic to speider venom so if i were to get bitten, I could be in big trouble. Otherwise, for the most part, I don't mind spiders that are small, but once they start approaching a few inches across...fuhgedaboutit. I killed a very big wolfspider last year (couldn't even bear to keep the pix I took of it). And yes just plain ol hairspray works just fine. |

Well, as long as you have gone to the trouble of dredging up an old thread, I may as well take advantage of it and post a recent pic I shot of a nice big juicy spider.

Black Widow Spider
Look above and to the right and you see what's left of her mate. This one was at work, in one of our outlying warehouses. |

My second challenge entry
They scored so poorly I haven't bothered with little critter shots since (not until I get a macro anyway). |
