* Post-challenge: Thanks, everyone! I can't even express how much I appreciate all the kind comments. :) It was a total riot watching my friend try to balance on that damn trike! After taking some "serious" pics there, we actually tested out exactly how fast a grown man can be accelerated across a dry lake bed on a tricycle (albeit WITHOUT the help of the rocket!) - turns out that the laws of balance come into play far sooner than the laws of aerodynamics... :D Come to think of it, I should post some outtake shots. :) Hmmm, what is it with me and yellow... ;)

DPC will be the end of me... Or at least my wallet and free time. ;) I was trying to come up with creative ideas for Famous Last Words, and for some reason a rocket-powered tricycle kept popping up in my head. :D I originally wanted to build a giant red rocket like the one in "Jackass Number Two", but couldn't get all the materials I needed. So I went with Plan B instead. :)

I got the pilot's head-wear and goggles at a local military surplus store. I bought a cheap tricycle and put it together the morning before I took the shot. The "rocket" is from a nearby hobby shop. I wrapped the yellow rocket body with electrical tape to make it appear more missile-like. That's my friend Spud on the trike. You know, for being rated at a Max Weight of 45 lbs, that trike held up really well! I originally thought about shooting this on an open stretch of desolate road somewhere, but decided the longer drive out to the dry lake bed would be worth it. :) I think I laughed more during this photo shoot than I have in a LONG time. Hopefully a few of you will be as amused as I was. ;)

Hilarious concept. Dude would seriously burn his coin purse though. Is the selective saturation done with curves?

roasted nuts comes to mind, I think this is one of the best ideas hear, not keen on the b&w color mix, but that's how you wanted it, so I accept that, the frame is perfect, as is the location, and exposure, one of two tens I gave in this challange. great stuff

One of the most hillarious around here!!!
I like the wide angle and the desaturation, keeping only the yellow. And the sky on top of the mountain just the icing on the cake.
