So, you don't want us to lighten the lightning? LOL

Why are you guys doing such short exposures? I hardly ever shoot lightning at less than 30 seconds a pop. It should be easy at night to close the aperture down enough to get a time like that. The bolt acts like a flash.

I'm with Bear. I miss lightning a lot. We get lightning probably once a year in Portland. Had a decent storm about 6 weeks ago, but I wasn't in any place to catch it.

This was 5 seconds at f/8. On a P&S though.

Heeheehee... so you want them to spell right, but not "expose right?"

Congrats Cindi! I too just recently got my first shot of lightning, like PapaBob said, there is lightning here in Colorado on a very regular basis, but it is still not easy to catch on film!

This is the first one I caught 9literally like my 2nd or 3rd click of the shutter)

Then I got this one about 50 tries later (this is my favorite), you can see the other part of the lightning through the trees

And this one was too close for comfort, so I went inside =)

Congrats again!

I lived in southern Cal. for a while and the one thing we missed was having any kind of weather change...... Right now as I repair the damage I am re-thinking that!

Hehe. I am on the other end- lived in Colorado and now am in So Cal. I miss thunder every once in a while. We hardly ever get any here. Don't even mind shoveling snow. But the weather here is hard to beat- even if it does get boring!
