well I did break 5.xxxx at one point but falling under 5 again, still I think its not to bad for my first portrait and the fact that I... will stop right there so I don't give anything away for the next 25 min :P

P.S. Those kid shots are all natural light candids.

You ROCK, noisemaker !!!
What a great score! Your shot was definitely one of my favs! I placed 29th so you kicked my butt! (And I was the one that issued you the challenge!) Bravo to you, my man! :) |

I thought submitting an animal portrait would do a tad better but it looks like all of the animal portraits picked up quite a few 1's; almost double digits for each animal portrait. The best of the animal portraits was ranked 173rd (good job chloe noel)
Note to self: Don't submit animals to future portrait challenges unless the work "animal" is specified in the title. |

Ten 1's? What did I do wrong? I don't get it.. Is there a rule I didn't follow? Are you not suppose to leave a comment when you give a 1?

Thanks for the cheer up Krafty1.. |

The rule that says your shot must be a lot like what the voter thought it should look like. ie... don't go against the collective consciousness. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Pets don't fare well. Neither do figurines/knick-knacks.

Probably the same ten people who gave me ones. My guess is that they did not consider animals as portraits. I finished at the 22nd percentile. Didn't even make it to a five. Those who commented had nice things to say. I think both our shots are better than our scores suggest. I am accepting mine (reluctantly) and moving on.

If it was a portrait of the animal (not just a snapshot) I gave it just as much consideration as the ones of people. It was not a "natural light portrait of people" challenge, lol.
In retrospect, I should have scored yours higher (only gave it a 6, I think it should be an 8).
But chloe's was one of my top 2 (gave out 2 9s and no 10s). I love that shot.

I went up a little bit. This is a tough crowd. But I'm pretty sure I have figured out the top 3. And I'm FAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRr from it!
