New York looks gross these days. Too much construction...ugly looking construction. Too many tourists as well. It ain't pretty. Everywhere you turn people are fumbling with maps and cameras. The charming spots seem to be getting eaten up.

Paris, London or Prague would top my list. You really can't go wrong for great backgrounds.

I'll say this again (even though nobody seems to listen or understand) but I would love to see this as a Special Two Week Extended Challenge.

The crop of images would improve greatly. Better to look at and better vote.

Paris????? you haven't idea what is Paris in these days. tourists everywhere. the better period in Paris is after august 15. this isn't a good month for street photography, too hot in many countries, too tourists in many cities. only a beach can save we :)

I was there last year at this time and I lived there for four years. Believe me you can find plenty of cool shots with ease. Le Marais isn't crowded....and even the small streets up by Montmartre are easy pickin's. Early morining or night and if it rains...even better.

Rue De Rivoli, July 19th at around 7-8PM

Prague

Street Photography + Advanced Editing = Sacrilege

I just noticed that this was an Advanced Editing Challenge. It somehow seems wrong.

I agree. At least it lets you add a little grain in different blending modes to give it a bit of a gritty street 'feel'.

I agree...I'm terrible at setting shots up, I'd rather do this.

Oh Yeah... well I wish I was in a city with streets. All I have here are cow trails and the path to the outhouse. :O)

I thought shots of homeless people would get slaughtered in the Candid challenge. but I was wrong. I stayed away from shooting them last time, but this time I think anything is fair game.

I just noticed this challenge. Here in NYC though we're supposed to have lots of rain starting tomorrow right through Sunday. :-/

Tokyo is not bad either for street photos

I had 2 completely different images to choose from for this challenge. One that I liked and one I felt was more in line of what Pawdrix would like. My preference is now in my portfolio and the (hopefully) Pawdrix pleasing image is entered into the challenge. We shall see.

Hmmmmm...let's hope so.

Keep in mind what I generally do isn't really Street Photography. It's more like Street Portraiture... candid, something. I'd bet in my porfolio only 8...maybe 10 images truly fit the bill.

I've been keeping my eye out this week for a true Street Photography image and I haven't found that real dynamic yet.

No homeless. I done been done wit dat. Cliche and extremely boring. JMHO.

I contacted the local mall - they would have let me shoot, as long as I didn't show customers' faces or storefronts. Apparently the corporations who have stores there don't want photographs of them being published anywhere.

I said no thanks. I'll find something to shoot downtown.

Or the walls. You can't shoot the walls. And the ceiling or any windows. And, ummm, you have to get floor shots preapproved. Well, just play it safe and don't shoot the floor either. Otherwise you are A-OK.

Oh, and the fountain is out too.

I will enjoy viewing and voting if I get the time, though!

And NO ONE does this type of photography better than you, Deb! I will sorely miss having one of your photos in the challenge. . .are you SURE you can't get out and take one????

Tomorrow I am heading to Washington DC. Nothing like Capital's streets. I hope I can produce another "6" range picture this weekend and make it 5 in a row :P
