Day 23 - Light

Day 24 - Roof Window

Day 25 - Sun and Window

Day 26 - Stairs

I tried to keep at least somewhat of a theme to this set (and the next, and maybe even the last one, I can't remember). All taken on my recent trip to Munich.

One more post later today to finish up (but all of you can finish whenever you want; I saw that someone just finished May's B&W challenge yesterday, and that would be fine here, too)!

Best,

Rob

Kudos to rheverly for his suggestion, time, and encouragement throughout this side project. I know I must personally thank him for another shot in the arm for my ever-fragile confidence in my ability as a photographer. Also.....a million thanks to all of you who have taken the time and effort to make the wonderful comments you have across the board. It's time for me to get a new obsessio.....subject nateriel, so here are what I pln to be my last three old window shots for a while. Many thanks again!

Day 28... Two more left!

06/30/2007 10:59:40 AM · #635
Hi all, my final four shots. Apologies again for two day deluge, but I did want to finish my own challenge on time. The rest of you can finish whenever you like -- or not, for that matter, though I'd love to see shots from everyone to get through the entire thing :)

It's actually pretty easy to start one of these, so no thanks are really necessary, but I appreciate them all the same. I'm really glad to have met you all, and it's been a lot of fun to see all your ordinary things, which, in the end, aren't really so ordinary, are they? Even if you're finishing on time, please keep watching the thread for a little while so that those finishing a bit late can still get some good comments.

Day 27 - Flowers

Day 28 - Untitled

Day 29 - Mill Workings

Day 30, Part I - Sky and Sea

Day 30, Part II - Sky and Land

The last two were taken before the current open challenges were announced, so no, they can't be used -- but wouldn't it have been fun if I could have picked one of these :)

Thanks again, everyone, it's been really nice meeting you all!

Best,

Rob

Glad to see you're still going here. Sorry I dropped out mid-month -- life got in the way. Congrats to those who stuck with it.

Day 30 - wall

Well, it's been fun everyone! I started the Photo A Week project at the beginning of the year, and my theme was Shallow DOF. I tried to keep to that theme for this challenge also, since shallow dof and macros are something I enjoy shooting. It gave me a good chance to practice using my 50mm lens reversed with the adapter ring.

So, here are my last 3:
Day 28 - Keep Away

Day 29 - Curves

Day 30 - Glow

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the kind comments, and even the 9 favorites! It's been a fun month! :)

Day 30

This was a fun challenge! It was great meeting some new people, and seeing what could be done with everyday objects! Hope to see you in another challenge.

Day 30 The end of 30 Days of Ordinary Objects. George has been through an awful lot this month, and it's time for him to retire. It's been a great 30 days with lots of companionship from all of you. I enjoyed your pictures and appreciate your comments very much. I've learned a lot about you, and I hope you all keep up the good work, your pets do well, those that couldn't make it the 30 days will put this aside and start the next one, Jeanne recovers completely, and we'll be talking later. I've done some experimentation, but mostly tried to come up with different ways to portray George through the month. Anyway, here is my last image in this side-challenge. I'm sure I'll be chatting with you all in the regular challenges. I'll leave you with George Retires, but I think I'll have to come back for one final confession.
Day 30

OK, I didn't get any bites on this. Robert (rheverly) where are you, after telling me about the legalities of photographing money? I wanted to wait a while before confessing, but not long enough that you all left the thread. George survived and is happily living in my paper clip holder I used for the dry ice picture. I pasted a picture of a flame between the bill and cigar.

Well I missed the final two days of the challenge b/c I was out of town for a Bachelor party. I orginally was going to take some picture of beer and asprin for the last day but decided that the month is over, so the challenge is as well. Thanks everyone for the great contructive comments but also for all the great photos you posted. I think one of the best ways to learn is to look at others work and see what you like and try to incorporate that into your style and technique. Thanks again and I still have some commenting to catch up on!

You can always finish (really)! It doesn't matter that the month is up. It would kind of suck to have a folder with 28 pictures for the side challenge, wouldn't it? Find two objects and put 'em up! Finishing is better than, um, well, hmmm, not finishing!

Best,

Rob

I sort of whimped out. However, I tried photographing all of the injury aids in a huge pile with the camp fire roaring behind it. In desperate need of a reshoot on that one. I will get the last few days up soon, I promise.
Rob, thanks for the experience.
And lastly, glad George survived all 30+ days!
