OK, so I didn't get any bites on my last picture. I wasn't sure about this, so before doing my last picture, which was going to include burning George, I did a Google search on "is it illegal to burn money?" and got this:
Specifically, this is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code, which says that “whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined not more than $100 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.” The law is enforced by the Secret Service.
So I changed my plan, folded the bill, then rolled it and took the picture. Then I took some pictures of after setting fire to rolled printer paper about bill width. I can't believe how hard it was to get a good flame, and to get a picture of it. I couldn't do it in the dark, so I took one with a white cabinet background, cut out the flame, and after pasting it over the bill cloned out some stuff on the edges that would have given it away.
So, you'll be happy to know that George lives. My other plan for a last picture was feeding George into a vending machine, but I was afraid if I didn't get the shot I wouldn't have a chance at a second shot.

By the way, I got this cigar about 6 months ago from a co-worker that had a baby. I haven't smoked tobacco in about 30 years. |
