Don't feel you are an idiot. Or if so, you are in good company. My original comment still stands. I thought you missed the challenge and said 6 for macro, 4 for technology. A good photo, but could use a tad more DOF to bring out the nose. Otherwise, an "good, but not exciting" subject. As for sending photos, I would recommend you sign up on pbase.com where you can post pictures. Then you can post links to pictures that you want input on. That process works well.
Hang in there.

No, it is not affiliated. But a lot of the participants use it to post their photos. Go to //www.pbase.com/logout and sign up. It's free for now, but you can contribute. I do, as it is very usefull for me.

LOL...this is a classic...i am laughing my butt off. Mainly cause I had just looked at his entry and the comments.
Paul, I though your 'MACRO' shot was great!! I noticed you submitted a photo this week...oh boy :)
I have left a comment on your 'Buddy' shot ;)[/i]
[/i] Thanks I thought the comments were deserving but the humour was great! Hey I got 2 tens! No sweat, I will improve I wish I new of a digital camera club I could participate in. [/i]
I guess it was in the forums and not in a comment, but someone else pointed out (and I repeated) that this was Buddy, the genetically-engineered bomb-sniffing dog (bred secretly by the new Homeland Security Dept.). |

Have noticed that the number and quality of the comments in this challenge has improved. Have already received more constuctive comments this time. I think that everyone has been inspired by "The Critique Club". |

I think the number of constructive comments has increased due to the low number of photos submitted as well as a little "practice criticism" given by the in-depth critics. I'm guilty of leaving a few long comments. My "constructive" comments? Well that's debatable. I hope so though. |

I would like to thank this group for their enthusiasm :)
I don't think all of the volunteers have critiqued their test photos yet. We will wait a little longer before we proceed...
If you get bored, go take a look at the critiques that have been left so far... I think they are all quite good and a great cut above the normal critiqes/comments normally left here on dpc :)

Now, if you'd like another go, how about doing a critic on my technology entry :-)

Hey Danny!
Glad I didn't offend. Phew! I feel better about critiquing already. It's past my bedtime right now, but I will definitely take a look at your Technology entry tomorrow sometime.

By the way, not to be picky, but "critique" is a noun and "criticize" (or I guess "criticise" for our Commonwealth members) is a verb. It's true that the noun is frequently used as a verb, in what I think is an (unnecessary) attempt to reduce the negative connotation associated with the actual verb... I believe that connotation is one reason there was a trend (I think based in Maoist practice) towards the terms (and exercise of) "constructive criticism" and "criticism/self-criticism" back in the '70s. And, despite the dated rhetoric and jargon, those principles are sound... |

It looks like we are about finished... There are three people who still have not critiqued their test photos yet. I know that one of them is out of town...
Phase II of the test will begin very soon :) Maybe even today or tomorrow...

John, When we get into this full swing, it may be a good idea to have a 2 week hiatus for a couple of weeks around Christmas and New Years. That will be the time I'll be least available, and usually it's that way with others. Just something to consider.
