Reminds me of that saying about cooks and broth. |

How about this? Compliment her for the great idea and say that if she'd go ahead and get the frame, you'll bring in the print. At an appropriate time, you can hook up, frame it, and give it as a gift together.
No need for a copyright mark to mess up the photo.

It's a shame we don't have technology that would allow you to give her the print as she wanted..... but after about 3 days it fades away to reveal a print of a large dirty pig photoshopped with her face.

If you don't want to give it to him personally, do it anonymously.
Have it printed, then frame it and leave it on his desk when no one's around or mail it to him. |

Personally I would leave off the copyright notice.
Here's my thinking:
Either you want her to not give the picture to your boss, in which case you don't give her another copy (the copyright in this case is quite passive/aggressive which can be just as bad as suckup). You are then drawing the line against "sucking up" by not giving her the tool do to it by.
On the other hand it's possible the copyright notice is meant to get the benefits of sucking up without doing it yourself. The boss notices your name and thinks, "neat picture" and voila. However, I'd realize that this is merely indirect sucking up and you should just call it like it is.
So bottom line: Either give her a copy without the name knowing full well she is going to use it for her dastardly deeds or don't give her one at all.

Give that sweetheart what she wants â€Â¦ take a long time if you can. If it gets hung up in the boss' office, be sure to see it next time and say something about how awesome you are. |

I, too, would sell the photo to her (at your normal print charge rates) without the copyright mark. It's not fair for her to impose upon you to give your professional work away on the basis of misplacing (!!!)what originally was a thoughtful and considerate action on your part to give her for free what you normally would charge for.
Why are you so concerned that the boss knows you were the one who took the photograph? Don't you want the boss to value your work product that you are getting paid for, rather than a sideline endeavor?
It's always better for people to find things out on their own. In this case, should the woman attempt to claim credit for actually taking the shot, you could always enlist another co-worker to casually mention it anyway, thus revealing her for what she is.
Or, you could explain to the woman that you would like to help her out, but it was always your intention to give the photo yourself as a gift and, while you are so pleased that she also thought the image worthy of framing and giving as a gift, you just can't help her this time. Perhaps there are others in your portfolio that she would like to buy from you and give to the boss as a gift?

Hopefully she hasn't misplaced her wallet. I know it's easier to say this when we don't work with her but honestly, with that many requirements, I wouldn't do it at all. If you do something nice for someone, their response shouldn't be to take advantage of that with 13 different demands. |
True. I try and keep it to 10 or fewer. |

Nah, a littl warp (puts on 5 or 10 lbs), selective sharpening (bring out the wrinkles, dull the eyes) and slight green cast on her face... ;) Not enough to stand out, subtlety is the key.
Instead of a copyright notice, you could sign and number it, and say that's what all artists do :)
