OK.
I have Photoshop 7, Genuine Fractals 3 and my trusty, dusty Canon 10D. I still get comments that I haven't done all I can with my photographs and that I need to punch up the color or change the contrast or etc. That's an improvement because my first images were dinged because of the composition and it seems that I've gotten better in that respect with the helpful comments of many of my new acquaintances in this community.
Now to move on and work on other parts of my photography I think I should focus on my post-shot production/editing. In another thread I read about applying the Unsharpen Mask at different points while processing my images to yield different results for different media (small DPC photos versus larger portfolio images versus print media from what I understood of that post). Can anyone point me to a good tutorial for what things I might want to get used to working with in Photoshop. I already have the Photoshop Classroom in a Book and the Photoshop Wow Book (or something like that) but they're comprehensive books and I just need to understand some basics to get started and see some positive results.
Thanks for all your help so far and for your continued involvement in my growing craft.
Kevin

Camera has nothing to do with the skills, imagine famous photographers from 1930's,then you talking about dusty equipment!

I sort of agree... But the Camera has nothing to do with the skills of geniuses... The camera can have a very strong impact on the skills and results for middle to strong amatuers... Tiger Woods with a 2x4 will beat me easily, but a nice set of custom clubs would likely take 3 or 4 strokes off my game...

Depends which way you want to go. There is a whole world of digital manipulation and image creation that is great fun, but isn't really what seems to generally be considered photography.
For a solid photoshop photography workflow, try

Again. This is for photographs, not doing digital art. |
