To all the dads out there, here's hoping you get kid-cooked icky breakfasts (if the kids are that age), a phone call (if they're grown and gone), a round of golf (if that's your thing) or a good day shooting. I'd normally be at my dad's today, and we'd be playing in the Father/Child tournament at his club (used to be Father/Son, but they relented when one of the young ladies there could outshoot most of the guys). Assuming I'm not still in some very warm dry place this time next year, I WILL be back for the tournament. We spend a week playing golf and it's always enjoyable, and I'm sorry I'm missing that this year.
Anyway, a couple of shots to mark the day.
(And you may wonder about the inclusion of the lady feeding the birds, but that's what the one little guy was watching so intently.)

This is my dad. I entered this picture in the last free study challenge to honor him. He is 72 now but still my hero.
Happy Fathers Day, love you Dad. |

This is my dad. I dont get to see him very often - maybe twice a year. But when I do I get classics like this. I always wondered where my son got his oddness from.

My dad isn't with us anymore, having passed on many years ago. This wonderful man plucked me from an orphanage and showered me with love and affection, and instilling in me those mores he believed would make me a better man.
A father, friend and mentor, he continues to be an inspiration to me as I meander down life's path. Often I think of him, and shed a silent tear, realizing how much better my life has been because of this wonderful man.
To all the other fathers out there, treasure your children and love them as if there were no tomorrow... all involved with be duly rewarded.
