Well I'm pretty new to photography especially with a digital camera so if I get in the top 50% I'll feel pretty happy.
That said I notice that waiting for people to vote is painful! :) |

Well I'm on a steady decline...
I knew this one wouldn't do too well, cause I took a different approach. But I still love it. |

I guess this is the key - you loving your own creations no matter what, hey isn't that what God is supposed to do?
I ultimately expect my score to settle around 4.3xx like I said earlier people here cant take anything but the very literal meaning and are also very biased against skin...

I might break 5 on the right angles challenge. I think my photo is pretty excellent, better than many of my other photos that have placed much higher, and I'm sure it meets the challenge (something I have problems with). I think it's just too artsy and lacking a definite subject. Oh well, I like it. Hopefully a few people will leave me nice comments. No comments yet though. Come on people! |

My submission is doing poorly. It has a at least 100 right angles. It must lack the "wow" factor. Oh well! I must move on, learn from the exsperience.

I think I've shot my right angles from the wrong angle. It's also got the 'Wow' factor - "Wow - who the f**k submitted this pile of rubbish?" ;)

My photo is full of right angles and I am being told it doesn't fit the challenge. I think it is time we issue a test for each challenge to make sure the voter understands what they are looking for in each challenge.
I know, I know that isn't possible but I am so sick of people saying it doesn't fit the challenge when it is right in front of their faces. Maybe instead of saying it doesn't fit the challenge they should get a better education. |

Same stuff happened in the symmetry challenge: people looked for actual pictorial symmetry in the shot - I think people are looking for actual right angles on screen here. Should have known really ...

In my brief perusal of the thumbnails and looking at some of the photos in detail, I will be looking for the right angles to be prominent in the photo and not just there. If a photo contains a right angle, but it is not the main focus or prominent, i will mark down the score. In some of the photos I have looked at, there are right angles, but they are not easily seen.
Too bad, because there are some really nice pictures that have right angles in them, but they are too far in the background to be noticed.
I do not mean to be anal about this, like in the Round challenge where people were marked down because thier photo was too round, I just want to be fair to those who took a photo where the right angle was more prominent.

Create a photograph where right angles produce the strength of the image.
Do you think this is why people are looking for right angles in the photo?

Hmmm... How about having an option - No votes - just comments needed :D
Wait a min - there must be a site like this - does anyone know about it?

I think my right angle went over the head of many so far. I'm to right brained to follow rules to a tee... So, I'll always have low scores do non-conformity. Oh well...I'm learning how to use my digi though. Van |

I'm pretty sure some people think mine doesn't meet the challenge. I see two parts of my subject that are definitely at right angles to each other but don't necessarily meet at exact right angles.
The pieces at right angles to each other are the strength of the image, but because you don't see a V or L shape I can see where people might mark it down.
It really depends on your interpretation and thats just how art is.
Of course I'm just guessing what everyone is thinking because I don't have any comments yet, ahemmm. :) |

I started off with a 9 (that was from the person that voted on my photo first). From there it was all down hill struggling at just under 6 now.
I've gotten 10 comments all commenting on the WOW factor, so I expect this photo to rate pretty much as per my Self Portrait image did - with lots of 10s for the WOW and lots of 1s for didn't meet challenge :)

I'm not geometry whiz, but I have over 50 Right Angles in mine, but 2% of the voters felt strongly enough to comment that they didn't think it met the challenge. The right angles are definitely there and make the subject of the photo stand out. On the other hand, they were gracious with their scoring.

there were a lot of photos with right angles... but not many where the right angle was the strength of the photo. |

OMG!!! YES! So far I'm having to force myself to vote... no offence ppl but this seems to be a boring challenge. I didn't submit cuz i knew that my pic was boring and didn't want to waste anyones time. Anyways, I hope no offence has been taken... none intended.
Just taking a break from voting. |
