I am new to this site today so am still trying to find my way around. I would appreciate any feedback at all about the images I have posted on this site.

Welcome! One thing you should size your portfolio pictures to at least 640 pixels on the long side. Go larger if you dare! ;)

Your pictures look very bright and cheerful, they are just hard to see in their current 120x90 size.

Hi,
your images are awfully small, in fact, even the thumbnails are bigger than the actual images. Its hard to judge your images from such small samples. They certainly look colourful though!

welcome aboard...You might want to check out this thread to really help you get started here.

Have fun and something to really remember in this diverse community is "you will not please everyone with your pictures, deal with it and learn from the experience, but still have fun." ;)

OK...deleted the small pics and added a bunch of larger ones. Please let me know if the size is better

I'm jealous, you have been a member for so little time, and have more portfolio images than me :P... i suppose i just need to shoot more...
also, some words to caution. make sure that you dont shoot cops (police)... and if you do, make sure its with a camera!

Thanks Steve...hard to decide which ones to post...I have hundreds of pics I have taken the last 18 months or so. Definately has become a passion.

PS...I'm jealous too..of all the awesome cameras everyone owns...mine is not a expensive one..but when it grows up..it wants to be a Canon!

stick around here and those hundreds become thousands. between my wife (

jaded_youth) and i we shoot a couple of thousand and month. good things hard drives are cheap:) enter some challenges and have an open mind and maybe a thick skin and you will learn alot and have a great time.

don't worry you can do just as well with it. i often get beaten by tons of people with cheaper cameras. it is the photog not the camera.

Welcome! Stick around and you'll be pining for the SLR, but don't forget that great, ribbon-winning images have been made from 1MP cameras as well as 17MP ones. Probably in the same contest.

Get wrapped up in light, not that which captures it.

I was trying to enter a challenge...but I think my pics don't qualify. I read in the rules that they have to be taken after the challenge begins and before the challenge ends. I'm still a bit confused about the rules.

that is true (and part of the challenge:P) so read the challenge description and go out and shoot:)
