Look over there
<-----------------

Got my D200 and this today:
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8

First SLR ever.

And while I'm reporting that, I'll also say that I've asked Kelly to confirm which color she wants, and then I'll order the camera. Has everyone who wants to contribute done so?
05/25/2007 10:51:12 PM · #481
i don't have a paypal accoutn, so i'll just give my heartfelt congratulations to everyone for helping kelli out. well done all you big hearted folks. (my god, that sounds so cheesy, i can't believe i just typed that)

nice, jeffrey. you'll love slr! next, of course, will be the range finder addiction, when you can spend your millions on leicas. hah hah hah.

Yer a star, Jeff. The generosity weighs up a little on the envy for your new gear. Congrats.
Congratulations on the anniversary, Lea.
My username entry has been in for validation since for ever - can't think what's to validate - some frustrated parking meter attendant must leaf through entries looking for something to report . . .

I checked out the camera page, and WOW you are in good company. The whole page is full of ribbons, and amazingly high scores. Congratulations on making what seems to be a great choice.

Going on 3, I'd say, but no sweat - I'm sure the meter maids are keeping you busy :)

And that wait for validation feels about 10x longer than it really is.

Have a good couple of days, everyone. I'm off to go camping in the mountains. Hoping to get something for The Four Elements.

Hi all

Been busy, and hve been sked to repost my brownie recipe for new members so here it is yet again!

Brownie recipe (can be doubled)

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup margarine (or butter if preferred)
1 tsp vanilla
3 tbsps water
*OPTIONAL* 1/2 cup chopped nuts or other foreign object of your choice

Sift sugar, cocoa and flour together into a bowl. Add all other ingredients and beat for at least 2 minutes (beater setting on medium seems best). If adding nuts or other foreign objects fold them in now. Pour batter into a greased 8-inch pan. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes. Let cool, cut into squares and EAT!

Hmm - wonder if I can modify this enough to make a dairy & egg free brownie that tastes okay and still had a decent texture ??

Don't know if you have looked at these yet. Some look to be OK recipes.

Has anyone else ever noticed that scores seem to go up during the day and down at night. I think people vote lower when they are tired.

Desat was up to 6.2 with about 90 votes but dropped steadily each night during the week (all the way down to 6.01). Today it is climbing again slightly.

Apparently people are voting on mine at night. I'm missing that "up" part.... :-)

That's it!

People are voting on mine late at night, mad and depressed!

Of course, why didn't I realize that!
