You can do so much better then the first shot in this thread..
I think I'd replace the one with the flower with the umbrella. Firefighters are cool, and the selfportrait is nice too.
How about the newspaper-shot? |

Newspaper one?? Ya think? I dunno... that one would need totally reprocessed too because I did a really sloppy job for web lol
The umbrella shot is in my maybe stack too. One photographer (PPA member) didn't think it was strong enough, so I dunno...

Its a horrible colour/contrast thing going on there.. sorry but it does nothing for me, in a challenge it would get 6 if I was feeling generous..

oh dear...
OK, I know I have been pretty laid back the last month or so in respect to my lack of opinions. and I do TRY to say nice things these days instead of moaning.....
BUT..
Gotta say this now.. Idnic is an OK photographer, pretty strong in some areas but rather weak in others.
She seems a very nice person, sometimes a bit too `pro-idnic`, but nothing wrong in having a good opinion of ones self.. BUT the continuous swooning and blatently obvious, for want of a better word, flirting is pretty darn sickening sometimes.. yeah she is a good looking woman, but some ppl are obsessed with HER, not her as a photographer, but just the image of her..
its rather funny/sad/weird all at the same time...
Please note, this ISNT A knock at Cindi, really it isnt, I didn't use to be her biggest fan but she does come across as a nice girl, moreover its a dig at the sycophantic worshippers she seems to attract.

The shot of the boxer you have in B&W on your website is my favorite picture from you by a long ways. use that one. |

I think this scene has a lot of potential, especially with the title you have chosen. I would re-shoot it in a better lighting condition. The only thing I see that creates a conflict is the spotty sunlight in the background which is in argument with the thought of serenity. I think the subject and composition are both nice.

Sorry, Cindi, I think this shot does not meet your normal standard. It is good shot with great potential. However, it is more in line with my type of photo. I can't put a finger on it, but it lacks something, it confuses me, too green, too much to look at. Serenity to me is something simple, relaxing and focussed. This photo is too busy.
You have such a great portfolio, yet this photo obviously attracts you, but will it attract viewers??
Hope this doesn't come across as too harsh. Just my feelings to this shot. :) |
