Hi everyone, just dropping in to say, it looks like you are going to have me as a member of Tean Suck..... that is, in 6 to 8 weeks, when I back mends, and I can get about to take photos, and have my camera back all fixed, after my recent fall.

You all rock IMO, and thanks for all the wonderful comments on my "Black and White" images, that I have in the current "30 Day Black and White" challenge. I am sifting through all my images, and finding new photos that I don;t have in my portfolio, to process to black and white for this challenge.

Thanks again everyone.....I will try and return the favor, re commenting on some of your images, as soon as I see them.....

Anyone who would like some comments please let me know, as I will gladly do that for you, anytime.....

Hi Shez, it's great to see you are feeling well enough to participate again. Can't wait till you join us here as a member!

Status update:
Free Study is hovering between 4.99 and 5.0 with no comments
Tryptich is at 5.6 with 7 comments
Symmetry is surprising me at 5.2 with 2 comments. I expected about 4.6.

I have an entry in Dr. Seuss that I think is okay, but probably won't score very well. I expect a lot of creative and humorous shots in that challenge, and mine is neither. I've no good ideas yet for Culture or Sports. I feel like I'm going through a dry spell.

Oh, one more thing. Loxahatchee Nat. Wildlife Refuge, one of my favorite haunts in the Everglades, is on fire. It was ignited by a lightning strike last night. Florida is having a severe drought -- everything is a tinder box and there are a lot of wild fires now.

Dry spell here as well, both photographically and literally, though no fires that I know of (sorry to hear about yours, Julianne, but nature has a strange way of regenerating things sometimes - might have been "due"). Good chance I won't be in Seuss or either of the opens this week.

I'm delighted to hear about the good symmetry scores.

I, too, seem to have stumbled into something in that one ...

Bastids.

Still, you know what they say - if you're not getting flakk, you're not over the target :)

Sorry to hear about the DQ Hywind, I'm looking forward to seeing it. Oh well, don't take it to heart there's another challenge to enter.

Isn't that where you took those lovely photos last year of the hawk in flight, ibix, etc? It is certainly extra dry this year. We haven't had rain in weeks here, either.

Hywind sorry about the DQ! Having gotten several myself, I can sympathize with how much it sucks. We look forward to seeing your triptych after the challenge anyway - and remember that if you get a DQ you'll get lots more views!

Edit to add: You go levyj413 Jeffrey on your symmetry shot! That's a great score, can't wait to see it!!! Mine is hanging just around 5.9, but I am happy to report I also got a fave. Kashi, don't you also have a good symmetry score going?

Woo hoo! Just got a fave on my Free Study, and another one on my Symmetry. Great scores on Symmetry, Team Suckers! Kashi, Jeffrey, anyone else? And if I recall both Christian and Hipychik were rocking the house in triptych?

Thanks to all who have commented on my B&W conversion. I will try your suggestion this weekend. All the comments help.

That's too bad - it will be interesting to hear what went wrong. From the threads I've seen, looks like some were making an effort to have pics validated in that challenge.

As I side note, I did get a comment from you in my free study challenge, thank you AND i have heard from another lightly decsribed as "bizarre" - LOVE IT! Thought I might get this kind of reaction :D

Yes, it's where I take a lot of bird shots. Here are two of my favorites. I think they are the ones you were referring to.

Fires in the Everglades are a natural occurrence, and are necessary for the health of that environment, so the powers that be have decided to let it burn itself out. Don't know yet how much has burned or how long it will burn.

Hi all

Sick as a dog with my annual cold, so not going to be around next few days - Triptych sucks at 4.0 but I anticipate good things for Dr Seuss which I just got in, sure they're be many more like it, but oh well.

Have a good weekend everyone, bye now

snaffles I hope you feel better soon, we had colds at our house this week too. Is there anything as miserable as a cold? Have a hot toddy and a pyjama day.

Well Deb, it's not dry here. We've had so much rain that I have to cut my lawn twice a week or it gets out of hand.

Working on my sports picture this weekend.
