seriously, I Never worry about my score I like the shot so i submit for that reason, some great shots in there but I cannot vote as you all know.
The annoying thing is that I cannot COMMENT either.... I never knew I was banned from commenting... oh well. better make another cup of tea and start 'dunking' my buscuits in it.

I have the same problem. Look at my Hair challenge. That was ART. Of course, nobody understands that my troll is my buddy, goes everywhere with me, sticks his head out of my camera case as I do reconnaissance for photos, and that he was my daughters when she was 4 and now she is 20. He is a sentimental old fool who probably has some stories to tell.
Oh, yeh, he votes for me too.

I know what ya mean. I just finished Landscape with a whopping 4.9.

| I'm new here - this is my second challenge. So far it's hovering below 5. But what gets me is no comments...? My Kitchenware has over 100 votes but just one comment. How is anyone supposed to improve or at least know what the rest of the world sees (or doesn't see) in a photograph that the photographer picked as their best. Just a vent :) |

I don't get it, I don't get it. (But what's new? lol) I should have expected to be hammered in such a large challenge. I wish my shoot hadn't gotten rained out before I could bust out the bubbles, I'd probably be a lot happier with my score right now. |

Maria, you will find a couple things here about comments. A lot of times during voting, viewers will go through the shots and vote and them come back to comment later. Some don't make it back to comment and once a challenge is over they move on to the next challenge... (I know I am guilty of this)
A lot of the time peeps will comment on the best and less than what they perceive as average. No comments sometimes mean we are hanging in the middle of the pack.
And an unfortunate part is there are a few who put photos in challenges that believe there is nothing wrong with their photos, and should we comment on some of those, they get all bent out of shape and will pm the commentor to try to swing the vote or correct the commentors opinion of the shot.
by design we do not know who's photo is which in a challenge and therefore don't know if we are commenting on a thin-skinned photog or someone who really wants/needs comments. So to avoid conflict many don't comment.
If you really want good comments to help improve try playing in one of the 30-day side challenges... There's no overhead or baggage and you will receive genuine comments in those type threads...

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll try that. I'd love some comments to know how to improve or how the photo actually turned out rather than what I had in my mind that still may be influencing how I perceive it - LOL! |

How do you get a DNMC vote in a rule of thirds challenge? You didn't try to be subtle did you? If so... BIG mistake. :)

Mine is creeping up slowly.
still days ahead and hoping it keeps creeping up.
I'm glad it get to 6's. It was started with 5.3++.
