I can't answer that as an either-or question. If people mind me referring to them by their username, then definitely full names should be displayed (as that is what people would then wish me to remember them as). I do not see any real harm in using usernames besides that, though.
Discussion?

Just want to make sure you're aware; the question is referring to the display of the artists' names on DPC Prints only. The change would not affect DPChallenge at all.

Reading your post indicates to me that something may have happened to generate these thoughts...
Any background details??
As for me, I'll answer to smellyfish, JD, or Hey you will work just fine!

i think it's because most people put their actual names on their prints. like i would never put achiral as the name of the photographer. it's more personal and real if the actual name is used...imo |

Ahhh! On *DPCPrints*. That makes it much clearer. Thanks!

It should have perhaps been phrased asking which appears more professional ? |

I like peoples real names to appear on their printed work. Their alias can appear as well if they like, but in the form of an email adress. this is the first website i've joined where my username is actually my real name. I have an online alias that I use everywhere else, I guess when i was singning up here I just didn't feel like using it was appropriate. |

Maybe it should be an individual's choice. I prefer my real name to be associated with my work but at the same time I know others don't feel the way I do. |

Yeah, I would vote for a choice too. I'm not a big fan of spreading my full name all over the Internet but I can see why some people wouldn't want to use their aliases. |

This would pull your real name from your profile. If you have your alias there too, it would carry over.

Is this worth the extra work? The same thing could be accomplished with a Browse/By DPChallenge Username, or a long overdue implementation of a print store link in the profiles.

This poll is funny to me, because as I was browsing DPCPrints for my first time after becoming a real member, I was thinking "hey, this site should really show real names instead of usernames."
However, my final vote would be to add a toggle to the site preferences allowing people to choose which one to show. I think it's the only logical solution, really.
