A Fresh New Rain
This shot has been selected for the Kodak POTD for March 20th!!!
I am so excited I ran around my backyard, lol!! This really ties up a great photo week for me. A new PB and a red ribbon in Trees, a 4th place finish in Hate, a silver ribbon on PPchallenge.com and I even got nominated for an Oobie for my street photography shot. If anyone in NYC can get some shots of this I would really appreciate it! I wouldn't have even known about POTD if it wasn't for DPC. I owe this to everyone here :).

So I thought I would bump this closer to a rollover to see if I could find someone who may be able to get a shot for me in Times Square, it is on a Tuesday and I realized my shot was chosen for the first day of Spring which is a nice little bonus.
Stolen Car Update: So I had to pay $330 dollars for towing and to get my car out of the lot, which it wasn't in, it was sitting outside the garage. It had been written all over in red ink, they had ran it into something and the front bumper and right front head light are all smashed and the front tire(which I just bought) was all torn from driving through that damage and it looks like they must of hit a semi or something because there are black marks from what looks like a large tire down the right side of the car. The driver's door is jacked up and needs a good push and pops open after rubbing against the front panel. I am assuming the frame is messed up but I cleaned off the writing and I can't afford to get a new car and only had liability for someone else's car so nothing is covered, so now I will be driving my new beat up hoopty ride, it actually still runs fine. The only thing missing from inside the car was my tripod...What a pain in the ass. |

Thanks everyone, I am lucky that the car does still work mostly and I got all the grafitti off makes it easier to drive around, and there are no broken windows or glass. It turns out the '89 Camry is third most stolen vehicle around, lol. But I am totally fired up to have been chosen for the POTD!

Bummer about the car, Joe, but 'grats on the POTD! That was the shot that first introduced me to your work, if I remember correctly. And of course, congrats on the nomination for the OOBIE (you were nominated for a YAPPIE last week, too.) Car, schmar... if it runs and gets you there, you're golden! (Sorry about the tripod, though. That's the part that really sucks.) |

I am going to NYC baby!!! So I will be in North Carolina on the 20th, so my girlfriend and I decided to fly over for the day! It is a bit ridiculous to spend the money, but I'll just have to have little tighter budget for awhile, but it will be great to see my shot in person. If any DPcer's are around that afternoon between 12 and 6 or so let me know and maybe we can meet up. :) |

thanks, I've never been to NYC, I am sure I will see everything there is to see in those few hours right? :P BTW, if you go to Kodak.com right now SJcarter has an image up there for the POTD! Also my school paper is going to do a little story on it and it may get used for the college summer or Fall schedule :). The shot was taken on the campus. |

PM me tomorrow. I get off work between 5:30-6:30. I live very close to the Kodak Billboard so if nothing arises I'd love to hook up for a beer or coffee. |
