This was my favorite but I was worried about using a shot without a person in it:

My entry ended up with a pretty average score, but I am not sure any of my outtakes would have done better - if anyone feels like leaving feedback on any of them, I wuld be very grateful!
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge, and shall follow it through with some more trips out on to the streets of York.

This one is fantastic!

Im happy with my final choice.

As mush as I liked this was not sure of the appeal for DPC, but considering my finish maybe should have gone with it.

Entry:

I suppose I could have cropped it differently, but I feel very strongly that the bench and the bin are essential elements of this photo.

I couldn't get this to look the way I want. I think I'm close now that the challenge is over. It looks perfect in Photoshop now, but when it saves to jpeg it makes the photo darker. :( (any suggestions appreciated)

Anyway, I think this one had the potential to score even lower than the one I submitted! :)

This was my entry:
It received a very average score of just over 5.7

These were other contenders. Thought the guitar player was too cliche, and the man with parrot wasn't 'street' enough

Did I enter the right thing?

There is no wrong choice in that batch. Great shots.

All these three shots are very good, butI think the shot you entered has the most "street feel", so IMO you made the right choice. Whether or not the voters made the right choice(s) - it's another question. I personally think your shot deserved a much higher score.

Sara- I thought you entry was inspired. I gave it a 9. Several of your outtakes are amazing as well. In particular and are incredible. Enjoy your art- it is its own reward. Obviously it is great to get a consensus of approval, but when it comes right down to it, I believe you should please yourself first and great if it also pleases others. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more of your efforts.

I thought your entry was very creative and out of the box. Don't worry about scores. You are very creative and your obvious talent shows through. Keep shooting and have fun.

first one wasn't even in the running but I argued with myself to submit the 2nd shot or the one I entered, any thoughts.

Thanks to posthumous, LevT and jrjr for comments on my street outtakes!

mamba - I like the photo you chose because of the location of the subject. I'm drawn to photos where the suject plays a tiny part of a larger drama. I also very much like your third outtake. The lines and shadows are ninteresting.

This is what I had in that did OK...

I was really tempted to put this one in though - Any thoughts appreciated.

Taken after the challenge....missed the deadline. Oh well. Wondering if anyone sees the potential on this "raw" shot and how would you edit it for something like the street challenge? Just curious.

Had a quick play. My fiddle isn't the best - but I see a lot of portential with this shot.
