Day 20. Toronto, Ontario
02/27/2007 09:39:35 PM · #1227

I went birding again today, but it was almost dark when I arrived there after work, so one is with flash. I also took a few gators relaxing pics, but nothing out of the ordinary except one dead gator about 10 ft long with buzzards at work on him.
I am beginning to fiddle with the knobs in "Graphic Converter" to learn about things like User Supplied Magic *USM, and the other gadgets that make pics look right when used correctly. If I blew it too badly, feel free to make suggestions and I will try them next time.

Day 27 is going to be my Free Challenge entry, so I'll have to find another. :)

I'll get some details entered into these sometime today, and look for Day 28 in the meantime.

Oh, and I'll try to get some commenting done later on as well.

I didn't enter the "Low Key" challenge, so here are some of the left overs from shooting for it. The 3rd was shot using tungsten W.B. to reduce the red, and get the blue up some. With auto or daylight W.B. the blue in the sky was a nasty looking color. The darkest area in the clouds is smoke.

It would be fun to continue this PAD "Where You Live" thing, but on a one day a week, or every other week basis so that it will not be so intense about having so many comments to take care of. Let everyone pick their own day of convenience, and post a couple of images taken during the week to the new thread. That way we could all keep in touch, and see the seasons change on the thread without being bogged down in commenting every day.

I think this is a great idea, and a great way to keep it up. This is my first 30 day project, and honestly it has been intense. My wife and little girl -- who at 21 months doesn't really get it, but gets dragged along a lot of the times when I shoot anyway - she pressed the shutter and took her first picture last week in Bawburgh :) - have been very patient. I would definitely join in a PAW where you live project, as that would be less intense on the whole, but I'd still get to "see" everyone and where they live on a regular basis (which I've really enjoyed).

We could also do a couple of things about comments; if you want "serious" responses to the image (because you're trying something new, or just want to see what other people think of a shot), ask in the thread. Otherwise, just comment on the five (or the ten) shots above yours (of course you can comment more, but no one would necessarily expect it). That would get everyone five or ten or so comments, and serious comments for people who are looking for them. Does that make sense (or is it waaaay too complicated)?

Just two days left in any event :(

Comments to catch up on - maybe tomorrow if I get home at a decent hour or if not then, the weekend for sure! Here's my last one - I was holding it for a possible Free Study candidate but went with something else (that will score lower - I have a tradition to uphold) instead.

Hochheim, Germany

It's a lovely little town and I'm truly enjoying living here!

I've been wanting to take a newer shot of this lighthouse and I could never seem to get it, so I went back into some older files to get this. This was taken in August 2006. I hope you all like the editing.

DAY 30 ...
AUSTRALIA, NSW, PICTON ..

dont actually want this to be the final posting for the 30 day project ... might take a few shots today and put them in as more of day 30 .. in fact might try and outdo my previous record of about 6 or something for one day!!
woke up this morning and looked out the window and saw beautiful colours in the sky ... its just fantastic right now coz there are lots of clouds .. which i love to photograph .. another massive storm last night .. in fact there was flooding at a school nearby .. cars were submerged .. fortunately no-one was killed ... but was a near thing .....

anyway woke up, looked out window, put on shoes and walked down to road and started taking photographs .. then i went on the firetrail ...

these two are taken from the road where i live ...

this one is taken from the firetrail ...

have to go out right now, but when i come home i hope to have time to make some more comments in this thread ...

if i dont post anymore then just want to say its been EXCELLENT .. and i've learned heaps ... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE COMMENTS AND PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE .........
