Holy cow Muck, nice score!!!
I think mine is suffering a little from the 640 pixel-itus syndrome. At full size it looks really cool (if I do say so), but lost LOTS of detail in the resize. Oh well. :-/

Man what is going on here? There are some really super people with really low scores.
I thought mine would be better this morning and it's not.

There are acronym lists online people who dont know the one You use should look it up befor DNMC a picture if not they should give up voting |

Well, I've voted on about 50% of the entries and find myself scoring pretty high - there are some wonderful, creative interpretations of the challenge in there.
My own miserable entry, however, is heading for a personal worst. :(

I am in total agreement. I did some voting last night but then realized I was getting too tired to guess properly so I will come back to voting in earnest later. Saw lots of entertaining thumbnails and expect to have fun with the voting.
I'm just below a 5 but have one comment that guessed my acronym so I'm counting this one as a success no matter where the score ends up :-)

Well, it can be quite hard for us who don't have English as our main language to guess what the acronyms stand for. Hwever, I have decided not to vote on those I don't understand. That seems to be the only fair solution. |

I got you all beat ... mine was a joke based on what i thought would be a common acronym among photographers, but if a couple of the comments are any indication many voters have no idea what it stands for. I'm gonna have fun watching their red faces when the bag comes off after the challenge (if I don't self-DQ as I slink off in the corner before then!):

Well guys I gotta say....There are alot of "acronyms" here I do not know..so I google them, and some still do not make sense to me....I am trying to be fair but if the first 3 pages of a google search do not clue me in, I am skipping the image.
I thought people would want to pick something commonly known and have a great shot to illustrate it, but if the acronym is rare or unknown, I do not think I can rate the image fairly..

I think searching one of the acronym dictionaries posted in the pre-voting thread would work much better and be less frustrating for you. Just a suggestion. (Don't have the links handy and gotta' run for the day.) |

i don't want to start an argument, but the idea here was to create an image that spoke the acronym - right?
if the photo works then even if the acronym was 'made up' ie: obscure - it should still be obvious by the image what it stands for. i previewed the thumbs and feel that many missed the target with their entries. it's not often we are required to lean so much weight on the title to meet the challenge requirements, and maybe folks didn't take that into account when coming up with ideas for the image. there are many fine photos, by the looks of it, but if they don't make it obvious what the title stands for - they failed to fully meet the challenge requirements IMO.

No..I am not gonna research to try and understand an image, I think that is expecting too much from the viewer.
I am well read and a great lover of language imho if it is not relatively easy to catch the viewer, the picture isn't doing its job. For me the challenge was to have your shot illustrate an acronym...not to find the most obscure acronym possible and take a picture that may correspond.
I am not voting stuff down, I just will skip it.., no harm no foul :)

LOL- I just got a comment complaining that my entry isn't an acronym because it's not pronounced as a word. Hey, the challenge description DNMC! ;-)
