It's OK, just `wikipedia'ed` it.

For others like me who didnt know..

(FM or FMS) is a chronic syndrome (constellation of signs and symptoms) characterized by diffuse or specific muscle, joint, or bone pain, fatigue, and a wide range of other symptoms. It is not contagious, and recent studies suggest that people with fibromyalgia may be genetically predisposed[1]. It affects more females than males, with a ratio of 9:1 by ACR (American College of Rheumatology) criteria[2]. Fibromyalgia is seen in 3% to 6% of the general population, and is most commonly diagnosed in individuals between the ages of 20 and 50. The nature of fibromyalgia is not well understood; some physicians believe that it may be psychosomatic[3]. However, a new study reported in the National Fibromyalgia Association Newsletter [5], suggests a strong dopamine link. There are few, if any, treatments available. Although there is no widely accepted physical cure, some doctors have successfully treated fibromyalgia when a psychological cause is accepted[4]. The disease itself is neither life-threatening nor progressive, though the degree of symptoms may vary greatly from day to day with periods of flares (severe worsening of symptoms) or remission.

I also join in prayer for you with all your friends here! There's a story in the book of Daniel where Daniel was told that the moment his prayer was spoken, a command in heaven went out to answer that prayer! I'm imagining that even as we are praying for you now, a command is being spoken in Heaven to answer our prayers in your behalf for comfort and healing!

Gracias, Amilio
I hope that her strength will return soon. My wife Karen had a bad time like that a couple of months ago. She was ill with a bad flu. It took a couple of nights in the hospital to get her back to normal. It was found that her potassium level was very low, which affects the heart and kidneys. She could barely walk, and had much swelling during that time also.
Prayers for both of you.
Waddy

Mambe, I hope that you are feeling better and getting stronger. You aren't forgotten.

I can't imagine you pain, so I sympathize rather than empathize; but as I look through your work here I do note that a major theme seems to be "facing the truth" and "hope."

I would especially point to your self portrait with the desaturated skin; you are looking into the distance, you head, your gaze, they both are rare for self portraits- you are not staring into the camera with both an intense need to connect with the viewer directly, and/ or you are not staring allknowingly right through the viewer, however, you are confidently looking off the frame with a sense of hope- a sense of a different, better place, and you are half smiling at that notion.

Best of luck and wishes of no pain.

HI MAMBE ..
saw the title of this thread and decided to have a look ..
then i read your first post ... and then i read some others .. and then i googled FMS ....
my heart goes out to you ...
along with the pain you have the sleep problems and all those other delightful surprises as well .... i'm sure you are doing everything in your power to ease your suffering and to be on morphine surely means you're suffering is intense ...
i hope you have family and friends to ease your burden, coz in this life i've found that without that love and support it can sometimes seem too hard ..
i honesty feel that all prayers have power, so i am glad to see that so many ppl here in dpc are praying for you ... my prayers for you will join all the others ...
love
roz
