I almost didn't submit my music entry because, well, it bored even me.
The commenters loved it, but I need a little helpful feedback. :)

If it were mine I would probably improve the background somehow. Either reducing the brightness and going with a darker vignette or superimpose another shot of her something along the lines of this:
Just a thought.

Okay, obviously this needs more work, but here's an idea:

I think your question is asking about post-processing, but I think the best thing would be to reshoot and get a different angle/POV (maybe looking up along the clarinet or something). Excellent conversion to BW on this though.

Just another quick edit... I thought maybe it could use a softer lighting and a darker background. I used the processing technique Idnic described in her Move the Light Tutorial thread in one layer, then selected the background, lowered the contrast and adjusted the backlighting to make it darker. Added a very slight vignette to finish it off.

Got a little busy with other stuff, like the Where You Live thread.
Everthing above is interesting, and I appreciate everyone's input!
I think the idea that looks best to me is to darken the background and lighten Kendra. Originally, I chose a lighter background because I was afraid the black clarinet would disappear, but I see from the various examples above that's not the case.

If Art Roflmao wasn't so busy (as he seems to be these days), he would surely add Godzilla or a burning village in the background. ;-) |
