I hope so, I will be so disapointed if I get DQ, this is the first score that I have had a 6 or higher, let a lone a 5.0. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Jamie, your image hasn't been validated. We've requested proof, and you've send proof and steps, and we're voting on it at the moment.

minimal editing rules

It's nice to be back able to submit and I can live with this....I like it and my TS teammates will like it but it doesn't surprise me much that it isn't scoring well.

The funny thing?

My baghead comment:"Good jod getting the whole tree!"

I wasn't sure what that meant at first.

I guess that means he likes my entry........cool, so do I!

None of her last 25 have been DQ'd

To request a Self-DQ, you must be eligible to receive one as outlined above. The photo is "hidden" so it doesn't show up in your challenge history with the pink bar, but a Self-DQ does still count towards penalties if you have another one within the next 25 entries.

HTH

So she can self DQ her pic and it not count towards her as long as the next 25 aren't DQ'd in anyway???

Yes, if a photo is determined eligible and subsequently receives a Self-DQ, it's "free" to the extent that a subsequent DQ does not occur within the next 25 challenges. If a subsequent (2nd, 3rd, etc.) DQ occurs for any reason, the Self-DQ does indeed count towards penalties.

GOT YA, Thanks for clearing that up. That was something I didn't know but now I do. Wow my dad was right you do learn something everday, hahhaa

Don't worry about it, and don't beat yourself up about it.

The learning curve here is VERY intense, and sometimes we learn the hard way.

There was a thread about enforcing some rules and just about the time I was getting frustrated, I found a whole bunch of answers......

If you look to the upper right of the page there's a drop-down menu labeled "HELP".

The three categories below "Contact Us" have a lot of the answers I, and many of us, need, and if you can't find the answer, SC has a bunch of terrific and knowledgeable people who will not only disqualify you when you don't read and pay attention to the rules, but will actually HELP you to not do it in the future......REALLY!!!!

They'd MUCH rather do that!!!!

You can ask questions BEFORE you submit, and there are a bucket of other friendly folks here that'll help, too.

I have learned so much since I started here last July, I can't begin to tell you.....well, I could, but then everyone else in this thread would run screaming from the room.

So, take heart, and you'll do better next time!

Cheers!!

I know there are only so many ways you take a picture of a tree but I just voted on 4 straight shots taken from the base of the trunk looking up.

*sigh* I'll give em all a 5 for now and come back bump em as needed.

lol

If you got a comment from about a single tree, I'm going back to fix it. I did not see the "one or more trees". DUH on me!

Well I certainly won't be a threat to anyone, I was in two minds whether to enter mine, should have gone with my gut and not entered. This one is heading for my worst score ever, sub 5 :-(. Oh well

Thoughts on Tree challenge:

I was very impressed with the creatiivity, perspective and process of many of the shots entered. I really enjoyed voting in this challenge, and found myself looking and studying the shots more intensly then usual, maybe because this is the first challenge I tried to shoot to enter (backed out at the last minute).

Grats on all the entrants, excellent job.

See-sawing at the moment, was up to 5.7 but dropped back down, still hanging on by fingernails to new PB.
