I don't think that even Shadow/Highlights is allowed in Minimal.
It seems to me that the only thing you can do is desaturate, sharpen and resize. |

No adjustments (not even cropping) except standard sharpen and resize to 640 and <150 KB.
You can't even resize twice - SCalvert got DQ'd for that last time!. |

This is correct, with the addition of Rotate.

Konador -
The rotate must be a 90 or 180 right? No correction to fix a crooked horizon, right?

I took his post to mean he was going to work with shadows and highlights he found in the composition. In other words, he was going to have a picture of textures and contrasts rather than a picture "of a tree".

I can't stand not being able to rotate images. I cant shoot level, no matter how hard I try. I thought it was perhaps something with my camera until I tested it on a tripod: turns out the camera is fine and I'm just useless...

even on a tripod, my shots are always about 3 degrees off. I just have to try and not shoot somethng that needs to be level |

It's all half melted snow and bare trees around here. Not looking good for this challenge.

On the contrary. That would seem like a magical place to me. So try and look at it through new eyes.

Ha, I'm the same way. Maybe not 3 degrees, but I'm always off by a bit. |

I found minimal editing to be quite pleasant, the hard part was getting a good photo. Editing it was easy!

Does minimal editing allow you to do some pp steps in your camera before you upload it?

I'll back Amy up on this - you can use whatever you like in your camera, it's just once it's left your camera that the restrictions kick in. The file you turn over to SC has to be the same file you uploaded for your entry (minus the sharpen and resize allowed by the rules).

I hope so, I would like to do this but don't want to be dq'd over it. My camera allows me to edit the saturation and the edited photo, of course, looks better than the straight one.

This is my favorite tree. Unfortuntely for me it's located in Bonaire, NA....a tad far from Atlanta GA to go just for a contest. It's called a DIVI DIVI tree by the locals on Bonaire and native to the Netherland Antilles, so I am told.
OK, now I am soooo ready to go on vacation! :)

Hi Delta, the best way to get a ruling on this is to sumbit a ticket with the file in question and a description of your editing steps.

Thanks, I've submitted a ticket but didnt submit the entry or the edited image, I did explain the process though.
