Okay...there is already a thread happening DPC'S MOST ROBBED - Bad score for a good picture. that gave me an idea. While that thread concentrates on your own images that you thought should have scored better....this thread is concentrating on other peoples images that you thought should have scored better.

So here is my pick.

This image was brilliant. For a self portrait it says so much about the author. He is dark and brooding...but passionate and stubborn. His image tones state that there is no mucking around...everything is straight down the line. The crossed arms dare anyone to cross them...yet his eyes tell of privacy. This image should have scored higher in my opinion....!

ow what is your choice of image that should have scored higher?

This image had a huge support after rollover, as many DPC members thought it should have done so much better in the voting, and I agreee with them..... Just take a look at the stats above, re the number of views after voting.....

In the Best of 2006 I thought this image should have ribboned let alone score more than 6.1. It has it all. Very emotive, a wave of truth and it's just plain nice to look at (very stylish). What more would you want in a photo?

Edited for clarity and lousy spelling.

I think people thought it was setup, I know i did the first time i saw it. most voters don't read the threads i think.

I have thousands of them in my favorites (well a whole bunch anyway) but in a split second "pick one from memory",
3 instantly came to mind that I wish, for the hundreds of thousands of times I have clicked the shutter in 35 years,
I could have clicked the shutter on these:

Each, in my opinion, was highly under-rated, and ribbon-worthy.

This site is over-flowing with astounding images and photographers, but once in a while,
images come on screen that stop me in my tracks and connect with, these being the most recent.

A misunderstood Bokeh challenge shot. A fantastic one IMHO.

more like suprised because it is not something you would normally see. do you often see a scene like this?

Yes, I do, as I can say that due to the fact that I am often the one people are staring at, due to my short stature. Now more so, due to my disabilities, when I am out and about with my walker. Some people just don't want to see the things that may be differant and thats ok, but the few that do, seem to have a big heart, and a huge amount of compassion in that heart.

for the morning challenge -
I know I know - not the type of photo that does score high at DPC. But I found it very evocative - I loved the colors and composition.

I understand that people use walkers,i lived near the beach for over a decade and never saw someone push a walker across one. I am not saying that it isn't a great and powerful photo (i actually really like it) just that i thought is was set up when i first saw it. i think some voters may have thought that and voted down because they thought it was insensitive.

this is the first of many i've voted high that did not do well. i prefer to think that i have an eye for genius that others' lack...;-P

I particularly liked how this photo had a very distinct style all of its own. To me, it looks like something you'd find in a book about an established artist.
