The foliage colors along the Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina should be decent this weekend. I would like to take some photos at the Linn Cove Viaduct at milepost 304 and some more at the Little Switzerland tunnels at milepost 344 on Saturday. If time and weather permits, maybe a treck to the top of Mt. Mitchell for some more photos....

Anyone in the area want to meet up for some photo ops?

Well, if it wasn't 6 hours away... :)

I'm hoping the weather will improve a bit this weekend so I can make a similar journey here in Western PA. The colors are shaping up nicely, but it has been cloudy and rainy for several days. In fact, ever since my new camera came in on Monday, the weather has been miserable. Coincidence?

Hey John have a good time ... I'm hoping that we'll catch the season change as well - but may be too late in the year ...

not this weekend or the next ... but the NEXT :) - November 1st-5th I'll be heading to NC staying in Bryson City (nantahala village) and taking in the sites and shooting everything around that area with my best friend (who is also on this site now). We will be going to gatlenburg one day and cherokee (and other places - i'll know more soon ;o)) as well ... anyone around there who would want to meet up while we are up there that would be cool ... drop me an email photosbyayme@yahoo.com and could be alot of fun :)

John,

Probably a "no" for me this weekend, but keep me in mind, I live only 2+ hours away and wouldn't mind some pointers, if you don't mind a needy amateur. :)

Thanks,

I'm planning a trip to Lost Maples State Park for the same reason -
but Autumn doesn't start here until mid-November :) No colour changes
until then for Texas
