I am looking for a photo suitable to use as a graphic on my wedding invitations. I am looking for something 'soft' to use in photo form, but also defined edges that I may convert to a line drawing and use as a graphic.
I only have some silk versions to take a chance at photographing my own.
Anyone have something to share? Lets talk about prices??
Thanks, Melissa

Have you tried searching the photos for calla and/or lily? That might give you a lot of shots, and then you can contact the photog for permission to buy/use it. :-) |

Everyone, ( jmsetzler in particular),
John has offered to allow me to use this photo on my wedding stationery. I LOVE the calla lily in the photo. However, the Black is a bit too black on a Ivory stationery. I don't want to remove the black as I'm not sure how the lily will stand out against the ivory.
So, would you please suggest (and tell me how) the best method to soften the black, maybe even to a grey. and I plan on vignetting the edge to smooth that.
I tried just 'replacing' the black but it pulls some detail from the flowers too.
It is such a gorgeous photo I don't want to do it injustice.... Backup plan is to just vignet the edge and leave it as is...
Thanks for your help!

Melissa, would something like this work?
I just used Image/Adjust/Selective color - use the drop-down to choose Black, then slide the bottom 'Black' slider to the left about 50%

Personally, I don't like the technique of replacing the black with another color, because it gets into the subject too much, but that's just my preference. If you want the flowers cut out, I can do that with some creative channel masking...
