Yep. I'm back. Have been off and on the last week or two. My mother passed away on the 12th of this month and I made the road trip from Virginia to Michigan and back.

Just a confusing, curious question on my part...

With the advent of the new forums on WPL, where are we gonna "chitchat"? That might seem like a silly question, but I'm baffled by where that site is going, to be honest. Scott (Southern Gentleman) talks about it becoming its own world, that it's only using DPC for right now. I'm not really, personally, interested in participating in a completely separate contest right now; I'm treating it as a side game, using DPC scores. That's the only way it really appeals to me. He may do other things that do appeal to me, but right now that's how I feel.

The crux of the question - are we going to keep our "socializing" as a team here on DPCs forums, or are we supposed to move "over there" just because it's available? I think only a couple of us have checked into our area and answered my "roll call" (not a problem, just a fact), so I wonder if some of the rest of you feel the same as I do.

This thing kicks off next week; personally, I don't want to have to have conversations running on two different message boards about the same game.

We gotsa get some team spirit rolled together here, gang.

By the way, are the brackets posted anywhere? Who the pooey are we up against first??????

What new forums? I just poked around some on the WPL site and didn't see anything for WPL 4 except the team listings.

Same here. It's a side benefit of the challenges here at DPC. If it (WPL) ends up spinning off I'll wish them luck and keep hanging out here. :)

Roll call? I've been in & out the past 10 days or so...not familiar with what you are talking about. I have no interest in monitoring two forums either. This thread is where we can "chitchat". :D

As I mentioned earlier, I just looked around on the WPL site. Didn't see anything but team listings. No brackets.

Guess I better visit Scott's profile and see if there's any updates. First challenge for the WPL 4 season will be the members challenge announced at rollover Sunday night (Monday morning, depending on how you look at it).

Ok. Took a look at Scott's profile and there has been a bunch of activity recently while I was out.

Appears that the forum thing that you mention nards was another WPL effort Scott was trying to bring on board. WPL with additional features, etc...

Bottom line is that WPL 4 is going forward as planned from what I read in this thread.

Since most of my family knows I'm into photography I've been tasked with sharing old family photos my mother had with others in the family. That, and I started a thread the other night about converting 8mm film (from the 60's & 70's) to DVD.

My mother had picked up the genealogy when I dropped it back in the mid 80's. It is amazing how much she had done with collecting, organizing, and documenting all of this data. She went on to volunteer at a couple of genealogy libraries, etc... Mom was only a few months away from publishing.

Needless to say, I'm not at a loss for things to do at the moment. :)
