i try to keep the camera at my side - just in case - and generally there is nothing... but i still shoot some on a daily basis. if nothing more than to try to summarize the days mentality. i'll admit most days are failure, but i don't consider them wasted frames.

He might have (C-B).

And I can easily relate to your state of mind and practice. I, however, have just finished editing 2.000 shots, many of which were quite old by the time I got around to process them. I feel, well, a little jaded after this.

There are many ways, too many for me. I can walk only one. :-)

24,195 with the Nikon D70s and probably another 12-15,000+ with the Fuji S7000.

Far too many - The real question is how many you took would you print :-/ Those numbers are far too far apart for my liking.

i shot somewhere close to 150,000 images last year
i've archived (kept) close to 125,000
i've edited for printing somewhere close to 2,000
i've had about 200 printed for myself
it was a good year.

I was waiting to see if you replied here Skip, and those numbers do not surprise me one bit.
Congrats on a great year!

likely over 100,000 my camera and I lose track, enough that just the "good" ones filled up 2/3 of a 300 GB drive. Of course in the film days I shot 94 rolls of film (36 per roll) in 12 days, that is 3384 in 12 days on film for those who didn't want to do the math.

Ill take up to 540 in a single day with any one of my 7 cameras. In 2004 and 2005 together i shot only 3382 Pictures. I have probly shot atleast 6000 this year.

At that rate, even your 1D-series camera is going to need replacing by 2008.

The funny thing is, when I tell people I've put nearly 9,000 shots on my camera, they look at me like that is a ridiculously high number. But compared to my fellow shooters here, that number is average. 2007 goal for me? More keepers!

I started the year with an E-1, and E300 and put around 2500 on each of them from January until April, bought a 30D and put 8600 shots on it from April until I traded it, put 2k on the 1D I bought, and traded those 2 for the current 1DMKII that I put another 3k on since I traded for it, so for the year I put approximatly 19K shots through my cameras last year. At the rate I'm going this year it will be close to 40K if I keep the current rate up. Just this past weekend I shot 750. Good thing this new camera is rated for 200k shutter clicks.

Edit cause I cant add

Got my 30D in April 06 and it's around 14,000 now, use a 20D as backup/second camera at weddings, so maybe 2,000 on it. My 300D i used till april, so maybe 1-2k on it. 17-18,000.

2007 will be more than that. perhaps tons more.
