I got my XTi dec. 2 2006, since then I've taken 10,658 pictures, plus last year I took at least 6000 pictures with my old P&S

haven;t counted as my counter reverts to 1 each time I download. I do notice though that I take more and throw away more. Maybe theres less thought goes into it and I dont plan the shot as I did in filmrarely do I keep challenge entries when they do as badly as most of my recent ones. I find I am being drawn back to film for my serious work, cant beat a well exposed Velvia tranny.

My next two weddings have been requested in film with the negs scanned to C.D, so perhaps the tide is turning again?

Aroumd 12,000 for myself. Started off with about 1 keeper out of 1000, probably closer to 1 in 500 now. My first full year getting back photography since early college (96). Feels great and slowly improving.

According to my file count, I am up to 6509 with my Sony H1, which I got in Sept 2005, and I am pretty sure only about 1000 of the 6 were taken in 2005. On my dslr, the file count is currently at 3201, and I have only been using that camera since August of 2006. So that brings it up to around 8-9000. Now on the Canon I have taken around 500 in 2006, so that brings it up to around 9500. I also still use my Olympus D550z, and that one has had about 1000 shots taken in 2006, so we are talking around 10,000 shots for the year.

About 7,300 on two camera bodies. Down from last year but that is intentional as I’m making a concerted effort to be more selective in my shooting. Try to eliminate some of the garbage before I have to review them on the computer. Still much too high as I tend to take quite a few bird shots and use 3 or 5 frames a second often. I’m now trying to limit that also.

that's interesting, but what did you miss by not pressing it?

Probably plenty of waste and the odd lucky shot.

Truth is, I've taken more shots in five years than Henri Cartier-Bresson has in a life-time. Yet, I still think his photographs are better than mine, don't you?

So, now I try to shoot only when my senses are in sinc with a being or locale. This doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's more satisfying than the sound of the camera shutter.

About 10 good images, and about 21K others in my file for about 11 months of shooting. The heaviest time was 10 days in N M, at about 300 per day average. Goooooo- Digital! Camera burned up something inside in Nov, but have it fixed and working again now. I have an external hard drive on the way.

you don't think he would have shot more had it been convenient/affordable?

i try to keep the camera at my side - just in case - and generally there is nothing... but i still shoot some on a daily basis. if nothing more than to try to summarize the days mentality. i'll admit most days are failure, but i don't consider them wasted frames.

Something over 10,000.

I'm known in my studio to be trigger happy. I can only count what I do in studio for work, my home computer is not well organised enough!! Studio comps count me in at 65,000 images for the last year, with some 18,000 final images selected by clients.

I shot 1,200 photos on the last one-day fashion campaign for Crocs shoes, they selected a final 25. However, I still haven't beaten my all time reccord: 6,500 images in 3 days - for an event.
