This is true. But, sometimes it's really cool! ;-)

Hope you're not going through a major crisis....

agreed. unfortunately, if you don't further explain exactly what the situation is it is tough for people to commiserate with you. best of luck. just remember that no matter how much life sucks you can't let it suck all the life out of you.

just one of those days when nothing seems to go right, and just when you think it couldn't get any worse, it does. I guess a visit to the local bar tonight may help soothe things out a bit :)

No major crisis guys, thanks for the concern.

Life sucks? Why? How?

There are a few things in human nature that we never consider. For example, the way we react to be able to say "Life Sucks". Things happen in life, that I call Stimulus, and we react to those things, that I call Response. Now this is the beautiful thing: Between Stimulus and Response, there is a HUGE gap in which YOU can decide how to react. The choice is yours. If you decide life sucks, well, then it propably will. I'm not saying you can't ever feel bad or sad, but your character ulimately remains unhurt, because you can CHOOSE.

Just a little bit of philisophy for the early morning!!
C ya!

PS: We are what we reapeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habbit!

My little life sucks thing:

This is the third time this week that i've been locked out of the office for half an hour in the morning because no-one else is around, and of course they could never give the student! any kind of power such as a door key.

Well I guess it's more of sucky week thing, so roll on next week when I take a week off.

When I feel down, or have one of those weeks, I'm always reminded of an email I once received. I don't know if any of you guys have heard this story before, but here goes:
A psychology professor, when asked about depression, said people got depressed because they got hung up on the small stuff. To prove to his students how insignificant the small stuff really is he took a jar and filled it to the brim with rocks. He asked the class if the jar was full, and they agreed that it was. He then took smaller stones and poured them into the jar. The small stones filled the spaces between the large stones. He once again asked if the glass was full, and once again the students replied that it was. He then took sand and poured that into the jar, until the jar was filled to the brim. This time everybody, including the professor, agreed that the jar was full.
Then one of the pupils sitting in the back got up and made his way to the front. The professor was very surprised since this was not exactly a "model" student. The student proceeded to pour beer into the jar, filling it to the top, proving that, no matter how full your life is, there is ALWAYS room for beer.

Yeah, I saw, that's one of the things that reminded me of this story.

Yup, I have felt this way often. Who hasn't? Sorry you had a bad time of it. If it is not your health, then think to yourself "this too shall pass". Hope you are okay.

Karen, well I'm actually feeling bad for something that is to come. Silly isn't it? I guess I can choose to sulk till the thing happens and passes, or I can choose to sit in the bar everynite until it does. Darn it who am I kidding?

I almost choked to death on a donut bite (Tim bits, Munchkins, etc depending on where you live. People in the US get confused when I call them Tim Bits. They also get confused when I say "bathroom" "Chesterfield" and "Toque" (which they call a beanie for some completely unknown reason). But that's beside the point.)

Anyways. Yeah. I almost choked on a donut bite. That's gotta count for something.

Hmm. Let's see. How far back should I go? (LOL)
Okay.. Only to April. Hubby gets layed off from work, insurance runs out, money almost runs out, kids need fillings (ugh!), car breaks down (only 3 years old), ... and I was beginning to feel "kicked while down".
Then, I stopped and said to myself "as long as we are breathing, we will figure it out", and "hey! this is not life threatening news". Then, hubby got a job, insurance is coming soon, the kids are fine, the car was under warranty afterall (thought it was not anymore).
This morning I can wake up and say I made it thru yesterday and the night, and can thank God for letting me see my family again today.
Think it is gonna rain (again) today.. but, my grass needs to be watered.. so I say go right ahead! LOL
In other words, I have learned to cope with one thing at a time. It is something that took a long time to learn (thanks in part to emorgan49!), and I slip now and then.

FWIW, I never found trips to the bar helped much - usually just made the next morning miserable.... But I won't preach too loudly - I understand. ;-)

In the form of commiseration, here's how my sucky week started: Sunday afternoon the washer died in the middle of a load. Sunday night, while out getting a paper and picking up pizza, my car died - dead battery. Monday morning, had to go to the dentist to get a filling replaced - $150, and they screwed up the bookings so I had to wait almost an hour before the dentist got there (but, ooh, they made up for it with a $10 gift certificate at a muffin shop). Took the car in: $250 for a new alternater. Tuesday, the washer repair guy comes - $250 to fix our 3 year old, $600 washer. Wed, after I spent hours looking for gifts for my wife for our 15th aniversary, I get a $20 watch which I would never in a million years pick, but I can't complain, because she's on a major crying jag cause of all the crap this week!

But hey, it's just another week! Next week will probably be better, and this week is already looking up - scoring over 6.2 after 100 votes - my first score over 5 in a month!

I've had a sucky time too. Kind of mirrors Karens a bit. Hubby not working, insurance canceled, I'm sick as anything, and can't go to the doc. Need stomach surgery, can't have it till insurance comes back...blah blah blah. You're not alone guys!

ScottK, hell man, you did have a horrible week! Glad to know it's getting better.

The ladies seem to be having sucky days with financial troubles. You know, that reminds me. I've only a couple left to last me the entire month. I think I'll have to survive on bread from today onwards. aargh.

Wow, 15 years? Congratulations! :)

I'm sorry, I'm in a disgustingly optimistic mood at the mo', and that's what I got out of your paragraph. Hope the week continues to improve!

Well everyones got a story so why not. Both my wife and I are unemployed. Her pogey ran out, mine is good for 33 weeks (I'd rather be working). She has epilepsy which means we need homecare which we can't afford, even when I'm working. We have two kids, 6 and 1, and because of her epilepsy can't be left alone with the little one. So in essense both of us are handicapped. We have been fighting with the "powers that be" for support for quite a while. Today we had our first productive meeting with those people. Last week I found out that a job that I am qualified was given to a guy who's a drinking buddy of my old boss. That was the last straw....nearly lost it. So I've been feeling like I've been "kicked while down" too.

But I guess I can't give up hope.

Well, my story isn’t quite as bad as orussell but here it is.
I lost money in the stock market. Larger sum.
I had stones in my bladder so out came my bladder.
While doctors were in there, they found cancer on liver,
So out came part of my liver, they removed the mass of the cancer but
The other part of my liver is pitted with cancer.
I have a skin disorder and have white hair patches on my head.
I will lose my job in Dec. and I never got life insurance outside of work
My wife also has a medical condition and
My kids will be attending a private school next year and I’m buying a
30k vehicle. By the way, my wife doesn’t work. We are out growing our house
I have a little depression problem. I have high blood pressure.
My wife and I neverâ€Â¦.. seems to get along these days.

How does this work, I didn’t drink or smoke and my body/life still fall apartâ€Â¦
So I drink only when I’m too depress to overcome itâ€Â¦.
Luckily, I started my own conditioning program by going to the fitness center again.
Sorry, I just had to let out some words.

I wish all a long healthy life.

Since venting seems to work out some issues. Here's my story.
3 Years ago, my hubby was in a car accident. He's been in and out work work ever since with surgeries. He just got back to work after being out for 6 months. In that time, I got a small job to help pay bills. While he was out of work, his work canceled our medical insurance.
Really crappy for us, because I have a colon disease requiring meds, a sleeping disorder requiring meds, depression, and a back injury which requires meds and future surgery. I also have other problems resulting from the colon disease like low blood sugar, high cholesterol...other digestive problems.
Hubby is still having problems from surgery. He's finally back to work, which means I could quit my job. Thank goodness, cause Im not really suposed to drive in the first place.
I'm having complication from a C-section I had 3 years ago from having a 10lb 12oz baby boy. Way too big for my little 5ft 1in frame.
Insurance problem has finally been cleared up, we have medical again. Thank goodness. One bright light in my life.
But right now we all have the flu.
So...I'm sitting here commenting away on some CC assignments and trying to be as low on the physical activity chart as I can.
*whew*
Feeling a bit better now. And it's nice to know I'm not alone. Thanks to all who are having a Crappy day.
For all who havn't tried it...Venting helps. Feel free to unload. lol
