At this point, I am going to need that upsurge just to get For Sale back to 5.9. It has been dropping today, but my Dirt is rising and may wind up being a personal best. It's just average in my opinion, but For Sale is a decent entry. |

I grabbed this score snapshot now, because I think this is the highest it will ever be. What a sucky image. I'm embarrassed by it. (Embarrassed by the imaage not the score. I think I would give it a 3.) |

ok, I'm in for Sticky. I'm not enamored of the photo but it's a good workmanlike effort at a decent photo, and it will probably score above average for me, which means above 5. Unless too many people dnmc me.

| So yeah.... I'm really upset that I'm not going to have a non-laptop monitor. I think my entry for Pink Floyd is going to end up being too dark or too light. I am trying to tell myelf it's okay since I'll not get a good score anyway. Ugh. |

Don't worry  klstover, I am really happy with my PF shot but I know the voters will kill me for my processing and I will get a lousy score. I like it so much though that I don't freakin care what they think. |

Haha, okay. You make a very good point. I have the hope that this is going to be a really good shot for this challenge and I just don't want anything to screw that up. But, you definitely put things in perspective, thanks :-) |

It's my perspective, though, Kelly. No offense was intended. I'm playing this game with a P&S camera and a laptop, and I'm having a ball. If you have high hopes for the shot, I know it will be great -- at least on my monitor it will. Heehee :D
(Besides, you can always fix it later when you have your good monitor.)

| Oh, absolutely no offense taken. I often look at people complaining about scores I'd be thrilled to have, for example, so it is kind of interesting to see, and good to think about once in a while, that things go both ways. |

I'm not in sticky, nor PF or brown (though there's time) and will probably not do the next member challenge either. Lame, aren't I? And as for my usual curves, levels, sharpen submit, my dirt entry was WAY overprocessed by my standards - I've stuck the original in with it so you can see just how much. I have a better shot from that morning but it had less dirt - I'll try to process it today.
Off to go sit and wait on Delivery #1 of Stuff. The big delivery is tomorrow. |

Depending on your laptop, what you could do is get the photo how you like it, then try pushing the screen forward and back a bit. The different angle should alter the brightness, and you should get a good idea how it will look on a range of people's monitors. (I think that a lot of people have monitors brighter than mine, so I have started darkening them a bit). Either way it will still look different to some people :D
Then, once you've done that, you've done everything you can. |
