Ok I'm sure this will be a less than popular opinion...

Why don't the SC just rename Free Study to 'Enter A Shot That Already Scored Well'. One picture in the top 10 is almost an exact replica from the same photog as a shot in black and white. Two are self admitted outtakes from ribbon winning shots in other challenges.

Sorry, this is becoming a joke. There's not much 'challenge' in entering something you already saw do extraordinarily well once.

Entries that violate the letter or spirit of these rules will be disqualified.

Not many people voted anyway.

I'm sort of burned out on the Free Study's myself. I'd like to see it become more of a quarterly thing.

Same title even...

Outtakes, reshoots is there a difference? Besides the front page hardly ever changes. It's usually the same images that appear there over and over just slightly different.

HAHA... first ppl begged for free studies, and now we want it to stop because we are having too much of it :p

This thread doesn't merit SC input at all? These shots don't violate the spirit of submitting the same shot into two challenges? Come on.

It's been going on long before you got here routerguy. They've likely been there and done that.

I used the same shoot (not shot) for 3 different challenges, consequently I scored poorly on all 3... :-) So, that works both ways.

I'll respond Routerguy. The spirit as YOU see it. You want to condemn people for entering challenges as they see fit, go ahead. You're NOT the voice of wisdom... no matter how much you try to pass yourself off that way.
I for example took a shit load of shots for 'Headware.' In the end one of them was better than anything I took for the month and I didn't for 1 second think that in the end someone would condemn me or anyone else for submitting an image they were proud of. You have/had the option of scoring the image(s) any way you chose... and my guess is, you excercised your right exactly the way I imagine you did... beauty of the system set up here.

The people who entered the pictures didn't vote them to the top again. Isn't it simply giving the voters what they want?

You know what, Qart, I never mentioned your image. I didn't call you out or rag on you. I made a general complaint that a number of images in the top 10 were almost identical to shots in other challenges.

Yeah you did my man... 'Two are self admitted outtakes from ribbon winning shots in other challenges.'
I'm over myself...

If they are two separate images with obvious differences (even BW to colour) then I don't see what the problem is. If you had a good run and got some awesome shots that you thought were your best of the month and one fitted a different challenge...then who am I to say you cannot enter them both.

The voters will decide the outcome of the two images. They aren't stupid...I may not agree with their decision sometimes...but they will twig to the similiarities...so let the voters be the grown ups here and decide for themselves...not someone to try and mother them by telling them they shouldn't vote the second one well.

Sheez....!

I don't see what the big deal is either. This is a game and the object is to win. People do whatever they think they need to do. When it works, it works.

If you want to vote on a photo based on issues other than the photo itself, feel free. Everyone has his or her own ideas about voting anyway. Make your statement by voting a beautiful photo very low for whatever reason you see fit. Your 'statement' will be washed in with several hundred other statements.

If that isn't satisfying, start a thread about it...

Oops... I think you got that part already...

Is there a secret vault where these edited comments go? Is there a secret member status that I can pay extra for to gain access? Can I have them emailed to me on a subscription basis? Are you compiling a "Best of Edited Comments" book? Will it be available before Christmas? Are you going to remove all my questions? Do you want me to shut up now? :)

I no longer have access to the supersecret SC database of doom, I'm not sure I can recall all that from memory. Although I *do* have some personal records...muahahaha!
