Or maybe just plain turned off. :) With all due respect to your brave model, he doesn't have the nicest ass on the planet. For that particular photo, in my mind, the lower votes are indicative of subject influencing vote based on its appeal, not necessarily its "offensive" nature, or even its well done technicals.

A perfect example is the snuff picture "why", which was technically excellent, but which I for one voted low because of its extremely unappealing content. And Ken, check the comments on that picture. Four negative comments dealing with the subject matter, and tons of "way to go" comments, versus the shrill firestorm surrounding the "Octopussy" picture. This is why I postulated above that snuff is more acceptable than nude.

If it's your own artwork, you're allowed to put it in your portfolio, that's not an issue. If it's a photo of someone else's artwork, you can still put it in your portfolio, as long as it's not a challenge entry (or for sale on DPCPrints I think).

I haven't been able to get the two new podcasts yet... The iTunes issue that we see each time is still with us...

As an iTunes user, I would make this suggestion for these podcasts:

Come up with a naming scheme and stick with it :) It keeps organization and viewing on an ipod much simpler :)

I'd cut off my right arm to be done with the ipod issue but for some reason I can't get my act together. Getting the show configured for ipod has been a nightmare but I'm not giving up. In fact, I have something in the works which would possibly move our site to a unix server and maybe with that move we can get the itunes situation straightened out. I'm sure my buddy sea2c is working on fixing my mistake AGAIN.

In the meantime, please remember that the podcast can be streamed directly from the site without any special software. I say this because sometimes all the talk about the ipod problems seems to have led new listeners to believe they have to have an ipod to listen. Ipod is just one way to download the show and listen on a portable device but you can listen on your computer without any special software.

Sorry for all the itunes troubles!

From the title of this thread I thought it was about somebody doing the podcast while nude. I was trying to figure out how that would work, and why that would be so exciting.

boomtap...yeah, there are vidcasts where that could be done but like you said....why? You CERTAINLY don't want to see this!!

I know I can download it directly from the site and play it back on my ipod with iTunes. The problem is that iTunes then puts the podcast in with music files and not the podcasts that I'm subscribed to. The fact that if I manually download it it gets mixed in with the 5,000 songs I have AND the lack of a consistent naming scheme means that I have to do a lot of searching for it. Again, it's not an insurmountable task, it just adds a lot of work to the process.

Other than that issue, I think you're doing an excellent job with the podcasts and deserve every bit of praise you get. So....thanks!

There are parts of DPC'ers that need to stay behind the camera.

Why do you think there are extremely few? Perhaps because people have realized that there is no point in trying because of the heavy backlash. Conversely, we do get LOTS of photos of people's babies and kids because frankly they do QUITE well in the challenges. If there is a backlash to children photos it is far in a way over shadowed by the cheering squads or OR there is little to no bias and those photos get scored accordingly.

That's a fine image from Qart but this is a perfect example of what I am referring to. Apparently, all you can show is what you see on the street or make it so abstract that at first glance you don't even know what you just saw. Art Roflmao asked for statistics and I'd love to know what the "average time" voters spent on each voting page. I'm guessing just long enough to notice the pretty colors/sharpness, title and the time it takes to click a vote. Or in the case of Leroy (fotomann) 5 hours. :P

It'd be good if the ID tags were set up right, I think that would then solve this problem when imported into iTunes. Doesn't solve the automatic download but would mean I didn't have to go find it and change the tags to get it to show up in the right places ;)

Good work though - keep plugging away at that audio quality ;)

You could create a skype account that you use only for interviews. Tell people that unless they are on that week's interview list that everyone will be blocked (don't forget to actually do this.).

Well...it seems this podcast did stir the pot..lol!! I am fascinated to read everyones views on the matter. And I totally agree with Manic about our voices...I cringed at my voice...I can't sound like that....surely!! LMAO!!

Anyways....yes I am contradictory to what I said about the human body...I knew that to begin with...and maybe I should have explained why a little further...so I do apologise for confusing people there.

As for the grumbling over snuff compared to nudity I feel whilst some experiments have proven this point....I believe that thhis is a subject that will never be resolved. That is okay....! I also agree that many forms of subjects get hammered...but nudity is such a strong issue that yes...it does rear its ugly head more often. Again this is just an issue that will probably never be resolved...but certainly makes for a good discussion amongst people and in the end brings other areas to the table for discussion.

Anyways...I hope I didn't offend anyone (that was not my intention) and thanks all for listening to this podcast.

P.S. Lee....I think you did a great job. You put a lot of work into these podcasts and you should get a pat on the back.

Thanks for all the great comments. I'm not sure how many people have listened but there have been more comments than normal. I'm considering doing another special podcast on the issue of snuff or violence in DPC and how they score. Sounds like another interesting topic with strong opinions.

Just had a listen and wanted to commend everyone on a great job. I found the very easy and relaxed mood great to listen to and it was nice to see everyone express their views in a very open and sincere way. Thanks!

Qart, having looked at your profile again you also would have been a good one to get on the show for this topic. Fortunately, Judi did a great job for me so it all works out in the end.
