Question: Do they update these cards as scores / ribbons change?
That might be mucho worko.

I guess they do, but I don't have any problem with that. |

Have a great trip, Tate, and a super Thanksgiving. Look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
Congratulations on the nice Postcard numbers. |

I have a question for everyone. Do DPC voters tend to vote poorly on panoramics? Just a question for future challenges, not any coming up.

Oh! Looks as if we have several good Postcard entries! Great score, Lisa. (I'm gonna be lucky if mine equals my average)
You know, it's really nice how we complement each other on this ImageNation that we have formed. And when you think about it, it was almost a completely random group of DPC players. Not any more! |

Lisa, I cannot resist the question. Did you, by any chance, do a panorama for the headgear Challenge? (Insert very big smile here) But, no, I don't think anyone likes or dislikes panoramas any more than any other image... well, if it was a panorama of a long wall of stuffed animals, maybe. (grab that smile icon again) |

No, actually I haven't entered any panoramas. But I'm thinking about it. I was just wondering because panoramics show up pretty small depending on the width vs the height, which might make scores lower, without the voters even knowing it. Bigger always looks better!

My highest rated shot is panoramic-ish:
It also didn't really match the challenge. In fact, it was also a cliche sunset picture. I'm surprised it didn't get ripped up. It just happened to be a decent shot, I guess. =) |

I was thinking of this shot, which I consider a panoramic, but perhaps it isn't?
The ratio is okay, I think. |

That is a really lovely photo, smurfguy. To bad you can't cut down trees, huh! (refering to that one tree in there). I was faced with a situation like that today...I took some photos, and there were these stupid houses in the way...and you can't clone out parts of houses in the rules...why can't they just move for me? But I got creative and did some massive darkening of them. Still there, but not as noticeable!

Alice, I guess yours could be considered panoramic, but usually I think of panoramics as really long with a short height.
Also, you know what's insane? I've only been on this site...what is it...two months or so? And I've already improved a TON. Well, in some areas...I haven't been quite as creative lately...been playing it safe, unlike my earlier entries.
I think I'm improving because I'm forced to take photos, especially now that I'm in the WPL. I make myself do one challenge a week at least so the team has a better chance. Oh, and I'm REALLY forced to use photoshop. I work for my school paper, and you really can't do much because it's photojournalism. So I've learned a ton just by being more creative with editing outside of the paper.
OK...enough of my rambling...I should be doing homework right now...all night I was going to do homework...then I ended up editing massive photos....hehe.
P.S. I will put up my trading card photo soon...like tommorow!

Ok here's my photo. TOTALLY needs to be cropped in, but I don't know the dimensions, so I figured I'd let whoever's in charge of the cards do it.
I don't know how to make a photo a link either, so here's the link

Lisa, the easy way to put in an image that is in your portfolio is to click on the big and little squares in the Reply Box (Next to the person figure). It will prompt you to put in your image number, and there you are! Magic.
(When I put in an image, I always use the Preview button to make sure I have the right image.)
Oh, yes. I am in rarified air this morning with my Perspective entry. Joining this team has definitely made me a little more selective about my entries and this time, it's making a difference - maybe. |

Giorgio - these are wonderful!
I especially like the incorporation of the ribbons. And the colors work so well, and my goodness, don't we look scary.
Really, really nice job.

Ok, so there's this thing going on where everyone is sending their post card to ten people, and ten people are sending theirs to them.
Do you guys want to get in on this? Even if you didn't enter this one, you could make a post-challenge entry. And it might be fun to send postcards to our own team members! Let me know if anyone is interested in trading postcards with me.
Oh, here's the forum link

Lisa, this sounds like fun, except I really don't have a whole lot of time to send postcards out. But, in a few days, I'll be glad to send a virtual Holiday card to our team, via this thread. Maybe those of us who design our own would like to join in.
