Umm...naked maybe? :P

But Giorgio is the expert Team "Naked-Lady Photographer Guy" and he's in Romania! Those dang logistics. However will we work them out.

Is anyone, besides me, playing smurfguy's Post Processing Challenge (PPC for short)? It's beautifully set up. One of these days, we'll say "we knew you when...".
(and you're welcome, Jeff.)

Hey George,

Try and use this one - I'm not sure how it'll fit in the odd-shaped card template.

Thanks,

Hey smurfguy,

I enrolled in your PPD thing, then edited that photo with the oil rig, but can't figure out how to submit it! How do I submit it?
11/21/2006 01:05:32 AM · #231
Hey Lisa,

You shouldn't be able to enroll in the oil-rig challenge (#11) - that one's already full. But if you have a submission, email it to me (jeff.ward@gmail.com) and I'll make sure it gets in.

You did enroll in the horse jump one (#12), and there should be both a link to download the full-resolution image, and a place to submit your image and editing steps, all on the compete page.

...

Looks like my spots entry will probably end up at 4.6. At this point (200+ votes), I can only hope some of the 1's and 2's didn't vote on 20% of the competition! =)

Do you like this format?
11/21/2006 11:32:13 AM · #235
I have a couple comments:
- The team name text could maybe use less spacing between letters to make it more legible
- The background colors are bright, I might like them a bit more subdued so the logo stands out more.
- Does the average have to be on there? =) I'd remove the "avr:", and leave just the numbers, maybe more bold, like this one:

Looks good, George!

Edit: Oops - I linked the tiny image! Fixed it.

Giorgio, glad to see the beginnings of our trading cards.

Got a couple of questions/observations. Knowing nothing at all about trading cards (my first qualification) does the frame have to be that shape. How about, for example, a starburst.

Assuming it has to be the shape you designed, what if the letters of our name went something like this:
I
M
A
G
E
. N A T I O N

And finally, I really like the bright colors that Jeff found on the other trading card design.

In any event, I'm delighted to see this project well underway and in such capable hands.

I'm open for color suggestions, so tell me what colors would you like me to use. As for the shape of the cards is the same for every team.

Yes, I was wondering if it might be something like that. A Traditional Shape.

Colors. How about the colors in this one that Metatate brought up (only brighter)

All this is just suggestion, Giorgio. You're doing fine!

I really like the colours here too (and you can make me any colour you want) :-)

I like it that way, too. Nice work!

Unfortunately, for my shot, my name is going to run right over my lips... hmm, not to dismiss Alice's suggestion, but maybe we should go back to "imagenation" along the side and have our usernames in the bottom margin. Unless mine is the only one that's a problem. I can find a different shot.

So far I got these cards...you like them? I'm waiting for Lisa's and Caleb's photos. Also, Alice if you want your card with the Barbie photo I can replace it. :P

Oh, we sure do look e v i l here, don't we. And, Giorgio, you fixed up that camera pic of mine just beautifully. I wouldn't change it for worlds!

If we keep the name in the corner, it could be a lot bigger and still fit. If it goes back along the side, it will look good there too.

Looks perfect to me, thanks George!

Well done George. These look cool.
The only things that I can think of that might need some adjustment: The purple/ornage logo looks a little wild in the monochromatic card - I'm wondering how it would look simplified to be monotone as well or maybe just lose the shadow - not really sure, it just kinda looks like it needs a smidge of help.

Also: on the bottom left I think it would be nice to sorta keep the IMAGENATION together more - like:
I
M
A
G
E
N A T I O N

George, see how you like if you push your head up a bit in the frame - I think it might look better that way - your choice of course.

Whatdya think? - Again, thanks for taking the time to get these together!!!

Love it ... just kern out the ... "NATION" part a tad so that it flows with "IMAGE" ... and I think you've got it.
Question: Do they update these cards as scores / ribbons change?
That might be mucho worko.
