That is a strong one ... The only thiing I would change: I don't like the skewed circle obove the "i". ... perhaps a rectangle would work better since the entire thing is sorta boxy.
EDIT: I also wonder if we could add something slightly more refectlective of photogrpahy or imagery - maybe a pupil ... or something like that in one of the letters --
I'm not sure just an idea.
EDIT AGAIN: Maybe if some/all of the holes for the letters had blades similar to the DPC logo ... whatdya think???

just a try

WOW -- that was quick! ... That's quite impressive considering that you didn't have the layered files :]

I like the idea and the positioning seems to work well.
The lashes are great - more continuity between the background and the colors and I can see that working very well.

Is there like a standard resolution I should make this logo?
11/03/2006 12:05:54 PM · #31
Not that I know of ... I think horizontal is good ... I would make it look nice up to at least 640 pixel is possible.
Did you create the original version of this or did "Stare_...."?
I think it would be good to have a few options from which to choose either way.

I found some sweet fonts and I don't know how to use them in PS. I copied them in the windows font directory but PS doesn't sees them. Any tips?

I'm a Mac guy mostly but make sure to restart after adding the fonts to the proper folder.
I use "suitcase" on the mac and also on the PC when I use it.

I just found this thread. =) At least now it'll track on my profile page.

If I have time, I'll try a couple logos before Monday.

Alright...sorry I wasn't around last night...I had to play a show.

So, I guess I'm going to be captain of the team unless anyone has any objections. Or if Metetate wants to be co-captain that would be cool as well. Just let me know what you guys think.

Also...i'll get you guys the original file for the logo that you guys like. I'll probably make up a few more for everyone to play around with as well.

I think we should use this thread as our main means of communication since it's quick and easy.

Maybe have the admins change the title though.....

Captainization in progress .... OK you're there guy! Cool.
So stare_at_the_sun is officially cap'n!

I'll be happy to give input and my opinion as always. Probably more than desired. It would be great if whoever wants to puts together a logo of whatever they like for monday and then we'll vote - and make any revisions needed. I have POLL capabilities on my web-site, I'll try to get that set for Monday evening.

Just checking in to say I have my Long Exposure shot in. It took forever to take "just the right one" but finally it was time to make a decision. So, right one or not, it's in.

I'm delighted to see we have a Captain. Lead us to victory, Stare_at_the_sun/Caleb. Did anyone notice (If I read the schedule correctly, and tell me I didn't, please) we are pitted against the last season's Champions? Wow. What an initiation.

We have a whole lot of graphic design folk on our team who can not only make the definitive logo for us, they can score well. In any event, I'm looking forward to seeing Giorgio/'s classy fonts as well as Smurfguy/Jeff's contribution to the logo.

And then you guys can start on the trading cards.

All of this while you shoot prize-winning shots for the Challenges,of course.

This is going to be so much fun!

I'm on break at work right now so I don't have a whole lot of time.....I just wanted to check in. I'll be around more later tonight to contribute to the logo and everything else....

I also like the background of Giorgio's logo

Wonder how it would look with the font, perhaps made a bit translucent, from

Finally...I entered a photo in Long Exposure 2. Man, it was hard I tell you. :P Anyway, hope it does well.

How do you stand guys?

I have one in also ... I really have no idea how it will go over. I always push it just a little too far me thinks.
This should be exciting eh???
