Oh dear. I never realized there even was a Military Gallery.
I'll do my best to contribute in future. Just a small way to say "Thank you for your service."

And from one of the troops, a very sincere Thank you. I still say "if you're not gonna stand behind your troops, go stand in front of them". Thanks again for everyones prayers, they don't go unheard. |

My first ship was the USS Iowa, the sister ship of the New Jersey. They are the most fantastic ships I've ever been honored enough to to serve on. Both shots of the Jersey are great and as a former battleship sailor, thanks. As for supporting the troops, have done much of that here in Vermont. My brother has been sent oversea's twice in the past couple of years and I have had many friends go over, most came home in one piece, a couple came back in a couple of pieces but alive. Unfortunately a few have come home in a casket. All the work I did while in the Navy is on film, I will try to get some of it scanned and post in the future.

It's odd to see a call to support troops all over the world. What if my troops are currently shooting at your troops?

Now that I *see* the military category, I know it was there. I just never thought of using it. :/ |

Somewhat OT but American Horse posted this link the other day.
I think it's applicable here.

Here's a shot I took on Veterans Day, 2004, during the National Anthem. The boy's father was in Iraq at the time.

Read the history of the defence of Leningrad and regardless of Stalin or communism you got to have respect for the people defending their city.

Right or wrong, they're all risking the ultimate sacrifice for their country and their citizens. That is an honorable pursuit, and should be recognized as such.
Their leaders, however, don't necessarily qualify :)
