All I have is the 28-135mm IS lens until my gf gets back from her trip to upstate NY. :( It seems only Joey has had a great score with this lens recently so if my scores start sucking it'll because of this! :P

No challenge there. Now if it were a telephoto prime you might have to work at it!
(Edit -- just saw what you did with a telephoto prime, maybe you won't have to work at it!)

In my experience, it's a pretty darned good lens. Fast focussing, godd zoom range and sharp enough for just about anyone.
It could be worse, you could be stuck with only your 1200mm f/5.6 :)

Yeah I'm just joking. I should be able to get by. Btw, I forgot about jrjr's recent ribbon winning shot was with that lens. Curious though both his and Joey's the two most recent were both heavily edited and my highest score with that lens was also heavily edited. Although this shot from graphicfunk isn't.
Maybe it's the lighting but he made that lens seem really good better than I'm able to acheive.
Edited for clarity.

That lens is great, absolutly no problems for me. Color rendition not as perfect as L glass but I mess with all my colors anyway and make them 'worse.' It is very sharp too, the edges (which can be soft) get sharpest around F8
Edit: And this is the only lens I have too :-)

Well, I have another one coming at you in the Free Study- I find that I like to edit (excessively)- my interest in editing began because I don't shoot in RAW, I don't have a studio or models or special lighting. I don't travel and I work way too much, leaving little time for play. I have found that intense editing, levels the playing field a lot. Now I just like it. I have to admit that early on I was part of the crowd that was annoyed by photshopped pics, but I have been won over to the dark side. Slowly my skills are increasing, but I kinda like the "in your face" editing because it is fun and is definitely a different kind of art.

I find this lens to be best when used with strong lighting. The following images were also taken with it.
