The fact that nobody stopped to ridicule me makes me think either nobody is reading these things or you all have a very low opinion of my possible music tastes. |

haha, ok, I totally made that up. I really did want to see if anybody has been reading these things. My list isn't too impressive (in random order)

George Michael (front row) (twice actually)
 Erasure (front row)
 Depeche Mode
Peter Gabriel (3rd row) - The best Concert I've been to.
 Sting (three times)
U2 (very LAST row, literally the wall of the stadium was 6" behind my head)
Kenny Rogers (happened to be a free concert at the Mall in DC)
one of Nirvana's last concerts (back stage) with Cypress Hill and The Breeders
 Tori Amos
 R.E.M.

Either the average crowd is getting a bit old for me, or I'm getting old myself. We were actually told to "SIT DOWN! YOU ARE BEING VERY RUDE!" at the last Sting concert we went to. That has kept me away from concerts since...

I picked Michael Bolton as an homage to Office Space:

Samir: No one in this country can ever pronounce my name right. It's not that hard: Samir Na-gheen-an-a-jar. Nagheenanajar.
Michael Bolton: Yeah, well at least your name isn't Michael Bolton.
Samir: You know there's nothing wrong with that name.
Michael Bolton: There was nothing wrong with it... until I was about 12 years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys.
Samir: Hmm... well why don't you just go by Mike instead of Michael?
Michael Bolton: No way. Why should I change? He's the one who sucks.

Pete has long been one of my musical heroes. He was my first concert upon moving to Denver four years ago, and I was lucky enough to score 5th row through the Full Moon Club. The stage was set in the round. My single seat stuck me on the end of the row, which didn't seem like too much of a big deal until I realized that the musicians had to walk through the audience to get to the stage. Which meant that he walked right by me four times. On one of those, I reached out a hand and he graciously reached back and brushed my palm with his fingers. It totally made my entire year. The concert was fantastic, too... ranks very very highly on my list of all time bests.

It is, however, beaten out by Dave Matthews Band at Red Rocks last year, which I saw with my sister and her husband. I have never been to a concert with such a magic intensity just buzzing with sheer joy as that one, then to add the happiness of having my family with me, and getting to hear "Two Step" for the encore, which was the song to which their wedding party entered the reception just three months earlier... it was a ridiculously happy emotional and amazing concert experience.

Wow....waaaay too many to list. This summer I was averaging 3 shows a week. It's what my friends and I do when we don't have jobs....and we love music.

Alas...most of you won't know any of the bands I'm talking about, but I may compile a list sometime tonight. I'm guessing the number of bands/artists I've seen is around 250-300...

The best show I've ever been to was Mindless Self Indulgence......if you evvveeerrr have the chance to go see them you should. It was the most fun 3 hours of my life...
