Mine's not a flower, even got a comment about it not being a flower. Still the score blows. Seems like the voters are having little tolerence for subtle shades of purple.

I didn't enter this challenge as I was away, but there were about 10 superb images all worthy of winning, the rest were very, very poor and cliche'...sorry guys and gals, but it was very disappointing

I looked at all the photographs and I was wondering how people have impact of previous challenge. What I mean is since this is Purple 2, then a person would have seen the first results of purple and based on that they come with there own version of a photograph. I think we should be more creative and present our own creativity..
What do you guys think?

After a peak of 6.4167 after 10 votes, I started my decline, which lasted most of yesterday. However, last night and this morning, my climb has been resurrected:

hello!
I've got a question to everyone who knows:)
will my challenge photo be visible for others after the voting is completed? or will I have to upload it again in my usual portfolio?
and one more question, I hope I'm not asking too many:
will I be able to answer later to all the wonderful comments I get about my challenge photo? it's my first challenge and I really don't know how it works.

Your picture will be available in your profile and one the challenge results page. You don't have to do anything.
You can contact comenters at anytime by going to their profile page and clicking on Private Message. It is probably best to wait until after the challenge to PM people about specific comments as to keep anonymous. Although I've been known to break that rule. ;-)

Depending on the comment, you may want to contact them right away. If there is a misunderstanding about your photo that you can "clear up" with them, then the they can go back and change thier vote. Anyone can go back and change their votes up until the voting deadline.
Just be careful...don't p!$$ them off. It could backfire and they could lower their vote!

Don't worry, your little old vote isn't going to sink a winner. Also, if you show a pattern to your voting, there are programs which run and weed your vote you. You may noticed at the end (if you watch), that your score changed somewhat after the challenge is over. This is from having votes weeded out.

Well, you can vote the way you want. But assume everyone gives other pics a "1". At the end every participant will have quite equal low votes.
That's not how challenges ought to be. It's all about fairness: if you see a good shot, vote high, if you see a bad one, vote low. Regardless, if your pic is in the challenge or not. That's the way I do. If you don't respect good shots you will have a bad conscience ;) |

I have no doubt that there are people that do that but I think it is very few. you can look at most ribon winners and see a 1 or 2. however I like most people here vote on how we feel about the image. I love to see great work. the only things that I would ask you to do when voting is to spend some time looking at them. I don't mean 5 mintutes per pic but more than 3 seconds. some photos take a little more time to see the real beauty. also please don't penalize for what seem to be a cliche' or overdone subject. flowers for instance. some voters go around giving really low votes to flowers (or children or duckies or woodies..) because" this is not creative everyone shoots flowers" please try to see the beauty of the subject even if it is overdone. remembr that some people are trying to master technicals before moving on to more elaborte setups and such. |

I try to look at everything here moer than a couple of seconds. it's just not very easy, there are extremely many fantastic photos here. it's so sad I physically can't see them all! |
