Day four, and I cheated and used another shot from yesterday because I have had a massive headache for the last 24 hours :)

My first "SP" for this.
Go easy on me. I'm actually quite disappointed. I couldn't get the lighting the way I wanted.
Anyhow...I'm expecting nott-so-good comments for this one. But I would love comments on how to maybe improve it. :) THANNNNNNNNNKS.

First off, kudos to everyone involved in this challenge, both from the very beginning to those who̢۪ve decided to jump aboard part way through. I commend you all on your efforts. There has been some fantastic work created by this group in only a week so I am very excited to see what else develops in the weeks to come.

On a personal note, I̢۪ve learned more in the last week than I have in the past few months, and not only about lighting and PS processing, but also about myself. I̢۪m a very shy person by nature, and I can see some people here who know me a little better from the forums thinking, "Yeah right!", but it̢۪s true. This challenge has encouraged me to open up more and has spawned a new wave of creativity within me, which I find I̢۪ve been sorely lacking lately. I value this opportunity to share with you a little part of me and my life, as well as being welcomed into your lives and having the chance to get to know you as more than simply a name on a website. Thanks to everyone for all the great comments and encouraging words...my ego appreciates it :D

Keep up the great work everyone and don̢۪t give up!

Oh and as a comment to yesterday̢۪s sp (shameless plug), I have a confession to make: my body is not that great!

This photo gives the illusion of a buff body, but in reality it̢۪s all just smoke and mirrors, or in this case light and shadow. Even I was impressed with the way I looked in this shot, so for anyone out there who doesn̢۪t think they could pull this off because of their body, trust me, you can. I think I may have to hire someone to hold up a spotlight behind me wherever I go from now on :D

Well that̢۪s enough from me...onward with the self portraits!

I couldn't get my photos to post from home, so I'm doing this on my lunch 1/2 hour.

Day 5
Feeling relaxed and a bit playful

Day 6
I love the way the muscles in my leg are cut. I hope it looks that way to you.

I'm loving all the attention and comments. I worked up a couple of shots that I really like and show me off to great advantage. But, my sweet hubby looked at them and said, "You're not putting that up are you?" He said he wanted to keep me all for himself. So, my gams are the most you'll get. ;-)

It's just a small obsession. Good colors and focus. It shouldn't cost ya much to get Homer fixed.{/quote]

trust me when i say that it isn't small. i have a TON of simpsons stuff. I was going to put more of it in the photo but I am lazy. I fear that Homer may never get fixed because i will always think of something else to buy:( I mean I still need that peleng 8mm a tele converter and i want to turn my 10d into an IR only camera:)

I am having SUCH a blast doing this. But unfortunately, I'm not sure I can keep it up. It takes me HOURS in many cases to set stuff up, shoot, then process - I'm sure many of you can whip out shots in no time at all - I just need a LOT more practice. But it takes a lot of time and I just don't have that many hours available. That, and commenting takes a bit of time as well - I think I've left over 525 comments since the first of September (and granted, a couple hundred of those were on the Free Study).

But I'm WAY WAY behind in stuff I need to do to get ready to move - I really need to get some of that done. I'm running out of weeks left! And at least one of those will be spent on travel for my job. Then there's getting the cats chipped and getting their shots; driving the truck to Dallas to be shipped, and separating out household goods for three different pickups - then scheduling those pickups.

I'll see what I can find time to do - I still want to try to find a way to diffuse my shop light without burning down the house and try for one actual "portrait" portrait. And there are some location shots I'd like to do but I don't have good daylight hours during the week to get to those. But I don't think I'll get one in every day... :-(

I'll try to stop in and comment when I get a few moments here and there, too. Keep at it, folks!

Barter system, baby, barter system. Find a tat shop and barter off some prints to them. I got the dragon on my back by doing a website for a tat shop. But, after I finished their site, they were "too busy" way too often to finish it. So, I got the outline done for about 2 hours worth of my time and work. It's gonna cost me about $300 to get colored in and some small additions.

Sometimes snapshots are the best ones. Please keep shooting and stop commenting. I am really enjoying seeing your work as I am sure everyone else is as well.

Too bad. :( I agree with rex, stop commenting and shoot. I as well am having the best time doing this, learning a lot, and stretching my brain, but half the fun is seeing everyone else's efforts. Hope you can find time to keep it up in some capacity. Happy moving. :)

I am with Rex and Louis, Deb.

Don't stop shooting it's just a learning experience. Shoot and post when you can. I love your images and I would hate to see you stop. But I understand busy and moving SUX!
