Sorry John, count me out, 9:30 pm Eastern is 3:30 am my time. Still, if I may give some reflections up front: any object viewed is reflecting sunlight or any other form of light. So, what is the point of this new challenge? Something that is not reflecting is black.
OK, I may be missing the point, but I think that the new challenge leaves much to the creative mind. Problem being, that the odd 250 'judges' do not seem to like hard thinking when they encounter a picture that does not seem to fit the outline that is drawn by the motto and the majority of submissions.

"Scientifically" that might be true, but most folks here have a deal of common sense, I find, and won't be confused by deliberately technical arguments.

Most people, and the spirit of the challenge, is in definition two, not in
definition 1, which you are referring to.
