Gotta read the explanation to understand why this looks the way it does... And be kind. :-)

What's the matter with you, JP? If it's contagious, please move back from the monitor just a bit...

This is a really good shot - I left a comment a link to an edit on it I tried. I'm obviously a firm believer that photoshop can make up for the lack of quality or size of studio equipment. ;-)

One thing I meant to add also is you should find a way to diffuse the shop light. ...without starting a fire. ...or at least get the fire in the frame when you shoot. ;-)

yeah, in the beggining before the bees we used a shop light and I found i could diffuse it with two paper plates. use one for three minutes(dont go much longer. its gets really hot) then switch it to the second and let the first cool down.a dn switch off every three mins. lol. sounds annoying i know but you get in a rythm and its better than nothing. dont use grocery bags or photos( i accidentlly melted both those things. lol. dont ask)HTH

Cool! Both you and Leroy managed to do in a few minutes what I tried for over an hour to do. I simply can't manage the clone tool for some reason. I can adeptly duplicate parts of wheels, my hands, my hair, etc, but not just the parts I want.

I like how you "whitened" the drop quite a bit. I also have no idea what you did with the masking, nor do I even know where to find the liquify or patch tools. I must go see where these things are hiding...

And folks, it's "shop light" and "drop cloth" as in one of each. I'll have to improvise for lighting on the other side.

And Ken, I did think about putting something in front of the light to diffuse it, but happened to read that whole "caution, light hot" kinda thing... figured it be best not to burn down the house, you know? Though if I did, I surely would have taken pictures for you.

Edit - Paper plates? Heh! I *would* burn the house down!

But that does remind me - Joe ( jdannels) did one of his where he said the lights are right in front of him - so Joe, what did you use to keep the lights from creating that awful glare?
