Yup, another karate shot. I like my toys, they're fun. This is a fan I use in class and it is considered a weapon. In case you're wondering HOW, it's made of steel and those thin sheets used to hold up the fan used to extend into blades. Also it makes a really LOUD startling sound when you extend and flip it. It kinda sound like a motorcycle revving up...or a really loud fart. lol, it's fun to use though, especially when sneaking up on your friends and whipping it out.

Converted to b/w, messed with brightness and contrast, then did something I've never used in a final photo which is the solarize effect. I think it worked pretty well in this case, mostly b/c it's b/w and all the lighting is coming from behind. I know people would like to see more contrast in this one, but it just ends up looking grainy.

Another shot with the blinds in the background, which I kinda like because of the the different texture than a plain background and the shadows that are created by it. The pose is great. Love the fan and the eyes gazing over are very myserious, almost playful. If I would have stuck to martial arts, I could have learned the fan in a few years. Yes martial art toys are fun :)

I live in Hawaii. I see lots of fans because there are many Asian women living here. I thought they were just pretty - I didn't know I was in mortal danger... Many of the women also carry parasols...I thought it was to keep the sun off their faces...but they are probably bazookas.

Yeah, i wish I could have done selectice saturization, or whatever it's called, but I only got GIMP yesterday and I haven't figured out how to do that. Where is it?

HEY! Where can I get one of those fans? Could be useful in village raids. ...although I might look less manly carrying that around. ;-)

Great shot! I would like to see more contrast - grain or not. :)

Very nice. Kind of gives it an old Japanese feel.

I like how the vertical blinds mimic the folds in the fan. Kinda cool!!
