...are not black shadows with bright edges only. I looked at the past challenges (I do this often, very encouraging, I recommend to everyone) and I was correct. Some of the silhouettes are not totally black shadows. I called them Silhouettes with personality. Why, because you can't tell what they are if they are only shadows... and trust me, not only human face, cats-dogs-birds be on this challenge, but out of shape stuff too.

I entered and mine has a "personality". If some of you think shadows with bright edges are silhouettes only, well think again.

A definition of a silhouette I found to be quite clear is this one:

"A silhouette is defined as an outline of something that appears dark against a lighter background. This usually occurs by exposing for the background, which underexposes the subject and produces a silhouette. Some silhouettes completely erase discernible detail in the subject, while some allow small areas of detail around the edges of the subject to maintain depth."

And since this will be discussed in some length the closer we get to actual voting (probably even during voting unfortunately), I might as well toss in some prior discussions from the last time silhouettes was a challenge subject.

So, other definition is "don't put anything that no one would recognize from it's shadow"

I do have a question then. What do you call an object, that you can see some details (in the body), sits front of a very bright background, and have a very visible silhouette? "Almost" silhouette?

I don't know, maybe I am thinking about this too much, but I wanted to be creative, and put something a bit different than usual dark matter thing. It looks pretty good from my point of view, I could show them to you too... at the end I might just give up and just do that anyway...

From the thumb picture, people probably will think "hey. that looks interesting" no details, and when they click on it BAM... DNMC!!!

Oh boy... I still think it should be allowed to have some detail, just noticeable, instead of black goo.
